Mini update and some nughunter grow tips..

21 days from seed.....

ok first thing i did was raise my lights..ive seen a few LED Ufo owners wonder how to raise the light as the steel hanging cables it comes with are a bit long...what i do is double up eatch of the 3 cables..instead of hooking one end to the light and one end to the hook ..i actually hook both ends to the light and hook the other end or "loop" to the hook....the lights hang 50% closer to the hook now ;)

then i did some LST'n ... i like to call my method "tie-stickin" ...what i do is take wooden skewers used for making kabobs and the twisty ties that come in a box of garbage bags..for the larger branches i twist the tie around 2 skewers..then i use the skewers to hold back the plant branch and place the pointy ends in the dirt up to the depth of my liking..on the smaller branches i use just one skewer to hold the plant branch back in the place i want it.....this method take alot less time than the string tie back method and its very easy to adjust ..it took me longer to explain it than to actually do it !...as you can see from the pics the plants have a "bonsai" look to them now and the side shoots will eventually turn into "main colas" ...

i also hit the ladies with there first light dose of Green Light Super Bloom 12-55-6...bought it at home depot for $10..i have used this stuff since it came in milk carton containers back in the 90's! ...great stuff that anyone can get at any home depot/walmart/lowes etc...it really fills out the buds nice during flower...no its not one of the big name nutes..but not evereyone has the ability to buy those....trying to keep this grow somewhat within the specs of a medium to low budget grower or one who does not like waiting or ordering supplies in the mail....
Your plants look great and are coming along nicely for 21days. I too am very curious about the LEDs and their growing capability. The energy saving will be huge in many way including the cost of not venting heat which is created from the other HID light sources.
How much fertilizer are you planning on using at this point in you grow, what I mean, what is the mix ratio?

Day 24 from dropping the seeds on a wet paper towel..day 21 from poking heads out of the soil....things are going very well...the tie-stickin worked really good and all the plants now have numerous side shoots getting bigger by the day..might have seen the first few flower pistils but not sure yet ..im sure by the end of this week they NL and the NLxBB will start to flower..the baby NL started off slow but is now growing at a nice pace..the seed was very small and the sprout was tiny too....the bagseed plant in the blue bucket is very strong and hardy ..hoping its a female....im thinking about going 12/12 for a week or so to sex it then go back to 24/0 and remove it if its male..or stuck with the 12/12 if its female....pics are NL..then NLxBB and then the bagseed..keep on keepin on !

Best of luck to you Nug, ill be checking back on your grow regularly to see how you are progressing along, everything looks great so far, just dont be over zealous with the nutes and if you are using tap water make sure that it does not have chloramine in it which is death for plants and cannot be evaporated, I learned this the hard way, also if you stop using tap (in case of chloramine) and use bottled water, e sure to purchase some CAL-MAG as bottle water has low levels of this which is abundant in tap water. just a little advice but you are well on your way to a great grow!

I have 2 x 300 watt LED panels in my grow closet which is 3 ft wide 2 feet deep and 5 feet high and I most definitely have to have exhaust, right now I have about 400 cfm of exhaust and my temps still range in the mid eighties so there is definitely heat from LED just not as strong as HPS.

i am using some basic nutes anyone can buy at walmart/homedepot/lowes....from what i have experienced with nutes its best to use them in low doses as you can always add more if you feel the plants need them...if you use too much ..you find out by seeing the plants suffer..bad news and the wasted time the plant spends getting back on track results in less yields....at first i was just going to use 12-56-6 bloom for the whole grow...after 1 light dose and some more research i decided to go with some flower nutes by expert grow..i think its the generic brand of miracle grow..its 15-30-15 ...im using about a half a teaspoon per gallon ...depending on how the plants look i will probably go 1 veg nute then 1 bloom nute for the rest of the grow but again that may change depending on the ladies. ...i also purchased some epsom salts to help lower my tap water ph down..right now between the epsom salts and nutes im running a ph of 6.3 or so... im considering buying a small air pump for my water...here are pics of my nutes and a few pics..first is the NL second is the NLxBB plant .

Looking good, mine are at 21 days today, they look more like yours at day 18(to be expected you have tried and tested lights) so I am am not trailing too far behind, I like the stick LST thingy you did. Keep up the good work.

day 33 from seed..day 30 from popping out of the dirt....both the NL and the NLxBB are have started flowering !! they are really looking good..growth has started picking up and i would imagine will continue for another week or so.....i have started sexing the bag seed plant by removing it from the cabinet and placing it in the dark for 12 hours..about 3 days in so hopefully by next monday i will know if its male or female...the baby nl has started growing nicely after a somewhat slow start..i have been training her horizontally and hopefully i can get some good results..im am very happy i lst'd these plants as they all have nurmous main branches that should develop into some decent colas..pics as usual.. NL..NLxBB..Bagseed."baby"NL

Ok kind of went off the main objective here of only growing with LED lighting but after more research i have decided to add some cfl lighting to help fill out the spectrum ... i added a 125watt 5500k full daylight spectrum cfl to the grow space today..from what ive read from a few different LED growers the extra white spectrum lighting will add to my yields...i paid $30 for the bulb so as long as i get a couple more grams of weight added it will be worth the investment..

Plants are looking good man, looks like you might benefit from some square pots though, it'll give your roots a lot more room to grow:) I had to upgrade to them myself and I must say I have a lot more room. We are gonna be flowering at the same time woot!

Plants look nice and healthy and are growing really fast, doAutos grow faster in terms of size and height than non-autos?

Plants look great. The auto grow I'm kinda just over seeing them. Teaching someone to get their feet wet. But thank you for the input. But great job on your grow

you know, i keep seeing threads with these LED's, but I never seem to see one that shows the actual results, or how yield a guy gets off these things? can a guy get an OZ. off each plant? I just can't see these things working very good......
