I'm still in the figuring it out stage of putting the grow rooms together. I keep reading and hearing so many different things on lights. My current thinking is 3 Gavita Pro 1000 DE on pulleys. I'd love to hear what others think is right. This will be for the flower room. The veg room is a whole different conversation. Due to restrictions I can't do SOG as plant count is a thing that matters.

I hear that the Gavita gets the best penetration and PAR. I read many growers experience 10 to 25% increase in yield when they switch to Gavita (of course I can't recall what a single one of them switch FROM) I look at some of the new LED lights and get swayed by their power consumption/total cost of ownership arguments. If I am understanding things correctly they are better in the blue spectrum which is more important in the veg grow room.

I've heard the the Gavita is a bit unreliable, turning themselves off in an hour due to over heating. Remember this is a closed CO2 room.

Does anyone have any experience or thoughts? I'm looking at abstract ideas as well. Say only 2 of the 1000 DE lights and maybe something smaller on the walls.

Any thoughts on this would be welcome, experience even more welcome. ;-)

I have very similar room dimensions......and I can help you setup a solid system - based on what I use...... and it performs really well in my opinion.

SEA OF GREEN - screw a lot of plants - SCROGG= SCREEN of GREEN w/IMG_0147.JPG IMG_1088.JPG IMG_1089.JPG 20160515_172344.jpg 20160513_005018.jpg FEW plants = Better Return and Better Quality and MORE bud! I guarantee it ;-) follow my recipe and you will win! LOL

2 Gavita DE 1000; 2 Gavita Plasma; 1 4'x2' LED NEO-SOL DS; 3 Quantum 16 Bulb T5 Fixtures w/PowerVeg lighting FS+UV as supplemental UV and added full spectrum benefit.

AC - I use a Mitsubishi Mini-Split - I believe it's 24k BTU - plenty of horsepower to cover it and it doesn't have to work hard at all - plus it's an inverter driven compressor - VERY quiet!

Hurricane Wall Fans; Custom Built Scrogg

Quest Dehumidifier

Other items as well - just ask me if you have any questions and I'll guide you along however you need assistance.

Peace!

That sounds like quite the investment! But possibly the cleanest looking setup I've seen! What size of containers?

So you seem to have the plants under the LED and the Gavita's off to the side. Is there a reason for that?
LOVE the orderliness of the room

Thank you for the kind words - this is my simple room ;-) I have a custom built RDWC in the adjacent room and a full RO system w/UV in another dedicated room. Evil Grin

10gal pots for a 2.5 month veg and then 8-10 weeks flower ;-)

I'm a clean phreak and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I love my focused beam of the LED - it makes them go Krazy and it helps harden off to allow me to use the Gavita DE in a 9ft ceiling, LMAO - with the Plasma and HPS DE and PowerVeg FS+UV = Your plant will grow to it's genetic potential that and the linear relationship of all the other variables....lol

I have more light than the SUN on my plants - complete light saturation with all the UV goodies and spectrum that they love!

How many plants? How much light? What Temps/RH desired? What style of growing/medium?
2 - 12 plant ebb and flo systems

I got 2 cob led units, one over each setup. Its in my basement and my veg tent has a duct exhaust and a small fan intake and my temps in that tent are 66-77. The RH is anywhere from 50-70% however so I'm worried about the flower tent
