making 200 dollars a week even without taxes puts you below poverty...Ron Paul needs to think before he says shit like that and for people to actually defend that one is just as crazy...We have a min. wage for a reason.. thinking about doing away with it is insane..

Look at the poll on that article lol

Who is the real front runner?

Mitt Romney 10.33% (2,894 votes)

Rick Perry 13.12% (3,675 votes)

Michele Bachmann 3.31% (927 votes)

Ron Paul 73.25% (20,525 votes)

Total Votes: 28,021

Yeah, too bad it's like ALL THE OTHER POLLS, in that you can't vote more than once... 'cause you know that's the only way Ron Paul can win a poll is by his peeps spammin' and scammin'.

Property rights over riding Civil rights---His idea would give me the right to refuse service to others simple because I'm the owner of a store..Hey white man get out my store..no reason just because its my property and I don't like white long haired people..( just an example)

Min wage---He feels we can do away with min wage...Hey workers Ron Paul now says we have no min wage...I now pay you 5.75 an hour ..screw what I paid you before...oh and all white workers you fired and get off my property...Property rights

Yup very dangerous ideas when used by the wrong person
If you all of a sudden decided you were going to pay your $11 per hour workers $5.50, how many do you think are going to continue working for you? I bet everyone would quit and you would have to do 100% of the labor all by yourself until you upped your wages back to the original amount. People are not your slaves and can quit their jobs on a whim.

Upping min Wage only makes everything cost more and increases poverty. But of course they have to do this in order to keep up with normal currency debasement anyway. IF they truly upped minimum wage to the correct amount of inflation we have sustained over the years, wages would be 30% higher. By purposely hiding inflation and purposely making min wage increases according to their skewed inflation measurements the government is able to look like a hero all the while actually stealing your purchasing power.

ALARM My bullshit meter just went off, again.
Why dont you try disproving Krueger's work then? Here's the reasoning in a nutshell:
Classic economics assumes that a higher minimum puts more money in the pockets of some low-wage workers, but forces others out of work, dismissed by companies who cannot afford to pay them. Professors Card and Krueger decided to test that when New Jersey, in the middle of a recession, raised the minimum wage in the state to more than $5.05 -- 80 cents higher than neighboring Pennsylvania.

They surveyed 400 fast food restaurants and found that those in New Jersey actually added 2.5 workers after the minimum wage went up. In Pennsylvania restaurants, meanwhile, payrolls shrank.

Why should bosses hire more workers if it's more expensive to do so? The two economists speculate that any fast-food restaurant typically operates with a couple of vacancies it can't fill because it doesn't pay enough.

"If you raise the minimum a little," said Professor Card, "teens who are sitting home go out looking for jobs."

Professor Krueger said the study shows that the labor market is a social institution as well. "There are lots of concerns about fairness," he said. "The conventional economic model ignores those concerns. It assumes people make decisions about where to work, how hard to work or how to treat customers on purely economic grounds."
