Hi guys I've been looking for advice on lights for my 80x80x160 grow tent I have a 600 watt hps atm but think this is to much for the space would i get away with a 400 watt hps? Any advice on fans for extraction would help

Your tent is 6 foot x 6 foot x 13 foot? Holy shit bro, that's way too much space for a 400W system unless you plan on not using half of it. You could slide a 1000 watter in a room that size and vent out the excess heat or use a cool tube. It all depends on how many plants you plan on putting in there but if you fill it up, 400 watts isn't enough

Lol any idea what would be a good fan all the kits I've been looking at are giving you a 80x80x160cm tent a 400 watt hps and a 4" tt fan and 4" filter would a 4" be OK

That's practically the same dimensions as my grow box and I'm using a 4" inline with carbon filter. Works perfect. As for lighting, I was thinking minimum 600W. You can always turn them down, unfortunately you can't crank up a 400W ballast.....Keep in mind I'm not running these kind of lights right now so I couldn't tell you if heat would be an issue or not. A 4" inline fan with a carbon filter should exchange your air 4.5 times every minute or 270 times an hour and that's calculated with your grow box, mines a foot smaller. This is calculating a CFM of 160 which accounts for the pressure difference and load onto the inline fan.

I tried using my RK150L 760m3/h and a clip on fan and 4" intake and temps were 30++ also do you think I should get a better intake? I was looking at a 4" rvk seems alot better than the tt fans

Definately go for 400w...600w seems a bit over kill imo.

Hey bro I have same tent I use both 400watt HPs/mh at same time and is perfect as long as you have Goid airflow and extraction

Get a 600 and dim it for the summer don't buy two separate systems. As for your heat issue it's due to your intake. You need to have your intake, if passive, minimum twice the size of your exhaust. So if you have a 6" exhaust you should have a 12" in take. My grow box has a 4" exhaust and a 6"x12" rectangle passive air intake works like a charm. Temps are steady at 24-25.

400W is easily enough man I'm running a 250W HPS in a 55x80x180cm space and its working just fine

I had to put the light right at the top of the tent and exhaust air from the side pocket like in the picture kind of like a cooled hood
Your going to need to either lower your lights or raise your plants to begin with though otherwise if the light is too far away the seedlings will all stretch like mad
