Hii guys I've got a 80x80x160 grow tent but having problems with my temperature lol I kno the lights a bit powerful but it's what I have atm. It can hold 25.5 -26.5 Celsius atm but I will struggle with Temps in the summer months any ideas should I get a 400 hps? or a cool hood? If I get a cool hood it will take up most of my tent lol as I'm stuck for space it's just for 2 plants any advice would be great thanks

a 160cm (5ft for us Yanks) is too short in my opinion. how about using this tent as a vegging tent and then buying a taller (8ft) 240cm tent for flower? is that an option?

maybe a cool tube would be better than a hood. but you still are going to run out of room vertically.

No its not a option it took me ages to get the wife to allow me that size tent lol. I just want to keep them small and bushy this is my first grow plus I started before I had everything a mate was getting rid of 2 plants and was going to bin them so I took them

can your ballast run a 400? or would you need a new ballast? a 400 would run cooler and allow you to keep it closer to the plant too.

i'd start reading up on how to train plants: topping, LST'ing to keep them as short as possible.

good luck!!

No I was going to buy a 400 watt for the summer and keep the 600 for the winter any ideas what size fan I would need for the 400 watt hps in that space

if it were me, i'd buy a 6 inch cool tube and a 6 inch inline fan. also get a speed controller for the fan so you can adjust from low to hi as needed and not just have it on full blast all the time. it would work well for the 400 or the 600. and the cool tube would take up the least space of other air cooled hoods.

a cool tube is not the most efficient reflector but it's only 6 inches tall. more efficient reflectors are going to be 12 to 14 inches tall. so its a give and take situation.

I'm in your exact situation in my hot summer days I can barely afford room temps to rise 1c-2c so I'm going to pull 2 grows off until spring to get me enough perso and start an outdoor crop this summer (possible outdoor hydro).... if that's a no go look into c02 you can run your temps a bit higher then but its a bit of extra work

you have any friends or a grow shop nearby that might let you borrow one to try out? i think when you get one in there (especially a taller hood), you'll see what kind of space you have left over. figure about 12 inches between the hood and the tops of the plants too.

hard to say. i had a 400 in a slightly bigger area then you and temps were close to being too hot. especially in summer. do you have A/C in your bedroom? that would help too.

why don't you put th 6" in the attic?? suck out of your tent and vent to the attic. less noise too. have you looked into a speed controller for the fan? then it doesn't have to run balls out all the time.

I've heard if you get certain types of speed controller it makes your fan whine any ideas on a budget speed controller
