Hello guys!

I have a Rock Lock in day 52 of flower. I have read that this is a quick flowering strain finishing in about 6-7 weeks. I am in no hurry to harvest, just want to harvest at the right time.

Do I keep letting the hairs mature and wait for the crystals to start to turn amber as they are are all clear, not even a sign of cloudyness or amber.

Thanks alot for the input

You will get different answers but mine is to wait if you can. I always want to see some amber on the calyxes, not sugar leaves. If you do not get amber on a sugar leaf soon, maybe your strain is an exception to my rule.

Hairs shrivel up, calyx swells up, and I always see at least a bit of amber. There are a few strains that will not fall into this rule, but very few. Some Sativas will continue to make new white pistils almost forever, as an example. With a most of the pistils being brown and shriveled.

if you think its too green and has an abundant source of Nitrogen i reccomend a flushing followed by some darkness(24-48 hours. Green fan leaves are a sign that there is too much N in the plant at harvest and it would be good to try and have your plant "cannibalize? itself a little. This is my opinion, others disagree. I'd do it for 3 days since 7 weeks x7 days is your maximum expectency. and your plant is 3 days older than that. this will be 6 days over schedule but it may be worth trying to get rid off your excess nitrogen so your smoke doesnt have too much chlorophyll.

oh i didnt really look at the first few pictures... if you flushed already which it looks like you might have it would be better to dehydrate your plant maybe. theres a lot of things you can do to quicken it up but you dont want to flush too much and over saturate the soil, which you wouldnt need to worry about if it was very loose , and theres other stuff to watch out for. like its good to harvest before your lights turn on if you dont like leaving it in the dark. Dont get me wrong about the Nitrogen thing because its very good to have it there throughout flowering, but its also very important to cut off nitrogen for the last 2 weeks or so.thats one reason why people say flush 14 days prior to harvest. this is also to free up salts in the soil/roots and stuff. :D hope i helped u

Thanks alot for the input.

I should have included that I vegged with sensi grow A and B from AN. and used sensi blom A and B for flower as well as big bud. I do think my plant is too green and wondering why they have not started to yellow off and die like in past harvests.

I have her, her last feeding on the fourth of this month and have just given her plain PHed water ever since. I am in no rush at all to harvest her, just want it to be right. I have never had the plants pistils turn almost all brown with absolutly no discolor of the trichromes which is why I am looking for some advice!!!

Thanks and keep it coming!

im saying that your goal is probably to get that 49 day harvest but ur at 52 already and it hasnt rid of nitrogen yet. its great that you gave it good nitrogen but you didnt ease off of it right with this plant it seems, which is the advantage of cloning and re-running the strain. it looks very great but from what ive experienced i get the best taste from buds that have had that nitrogen cut-off and stuff. Great job though man!!

nizza your right, i was giving it the sensi grow and didnt ease off, went into flower and started feeding it the bloom right away. Althought with this plant i would only water 1-2 a week because it didnt need more then that. It is up to my chest and i will provide better pics later on. Are you suggesting i place it in the dark right now for two days? or once my trichs have started to turn a bit? Thanks for your time!

Here are some pics of it from 2.5 weeks ago:

yeah a dark spot with fresh air and a good amount of air flow (oscilating fan) is what i would to to encourage it to cannabalize faster and finish up. it looks like its started to lose the color on bottom but the top is very green. Try getting a 30x magnifier and checking the trichs out and see what ratio its at. off of that you should decideto either let it go for like 3 days and 1 day dar and try and let them use their h20 up. or if u think it will take longer because the trichs arent ripe you might be able to give it a really nice flush and light for 7 or so days with no dark. i think your leaves are starting to lose color though

YO! Someone told me the best way to check, after browning hairs, after cloudy trichromes, he said that it's best to see the trichromes bending. I've read about dual headed and tri headed trichromes, so I thought this was the best way to go by, I would have picked my plant if I didn't go by this, but now that I am I see it has about a week left. Just what I'm going by.
