8 purple kandy kush plants, 1000w hps, 5x5x7 space, 2nd grow, and pics every monday.

my plants are still seedlings out of 7 the last one popped open about six days ago, the first one popped about 9 days ago.right now they are under cfl's until they are ready for the hps. yeah I know I should probably be using a mh for veg but im just going hps from start to finish. they are not feminized so we'll see how lucky I get with the ladies. My last grow was clones so im new to the seed game. Ill be using organicare nutes throughout this grow. that is a first too. I used bc nutes my last grow. i got some good smoke but the yield was lacking. but i think i just didnt have eveything dialed in correctly. we'll see how this grow goes.

okay I moved the from the cfls out to the big room under the hps. I got it runnin @ 50% power so Im assuming thats equal to 500w. I got that quantum ballast. there on 18/6 schedule and will be there until I weed out the males, maybe longer. I will be topping and lst'ing. my day temps are between 70-80 f and rh is pretty consistent at about 27% heres a couple of picsbump bump

I think you'll really enjoy using Organicare products. I've dabbled in some of theirs, as well as the main Botanicare line. I think I'm gonna start buying more of their products and less of Advanced Nutrients. Starting to find that a lot of these blends are VERY similar but Botanicare charges less than other brands. One thing I would def recommend is adding a good CARBOHYDRATE source to your mix. A lot of people think you should only feed it during the flower phase, but it's actually very beneficial when used during veg at small, consistent doses. Followed by a step-up during the preflowering phase, known as the carbo-loading phase, and then continue a medium-heavy dose til week 6. From there I would flush with Clearex week 7. Water only flush week 8. Unless the strain you are growing requires more than 8 weeks, in which you can extend the feed period slightly, as well as incorporate a longer flush if you want.

Molasses is the cheapest & most basic source you can go for. A lot of growers prefer it because it's not just cheap, but some of the first carbo products that were sold were basically derived from molasses only. Today's newer carbohydrate feeds are a bit more complex and are derived from various sources. I'm a believer of buying as many possible organic sources for your plant and feeding it a bit of everything, rather than just feeding them a lot of one thing. For carbs, I'm mixing in Advanced Nutrients Bud Candy, Botanicare SWEET (3 flavors - Grape, Citrus, & Orig Berry), & Tropical Organics Banana Extract. The molasses will work for you, but if you want to take your hobby a bit more seriously then you should take the time to see what products are out there made specifically for cannabis.

Well my babies are looking good. Im seeing growth on top of the soil, at a rapid pace. I gave them a nice organic tea yesterday. Ill post some pics tomorrow.

Remember, plants don't need any feed for the first 2-3 weeks or they are at serious risk of burning. The Happy Frog soil I purchased they actually said you're good for 1 month. You should be fine because it's an organic tea, if it was a synthetic mix it'd prob be a diff story. I'd actually take some of that tea and create a VERY light foliar feed and spray them down once a day or every other day.

One of the angles showed an obvious nutrient burn on some tips. Couldn't tell if all had burnt tips. I also noticed some curled edges. These are some common signs shown for overfeeding. Doesn't look too bad but I'd consider flushing them with water under the sink and then putting them back under the light to make sure you don't have too many nutes in there. When they get a lil bigger start putting them on a more reg feeding schedule. A calendar will help greatly, as you can preplan your feeding schedule with gradual increases in potency, as well as plan the variety of nutrients used at various parts of the plants life cycle. This will help you a lot if you can log & check-off as you go, ensuring you don't get ahead of yourself and overfeed.

Sorry for neglecting my journal. My net was off plus ive been away from home. So now im back and ill have pics up this morning. Since i last posted i found 5 males in my 8 so i threw them out and now im down to 3 girls. They have all been topped (uncle bens topping technique) and are looking good. I transplanted into 7 gallon buckets since i only have 3 plants.

okay so here is an update for those who GAF . I topped with uncle bens topping tec. on september 2 transplanted into 7 gallon pots on september 9 cut clones and super cropped yesterday and will begin flowering in a couple days. here are some pics.

Looks good homes. Nice lil bushes you got there. Looks like you went with topping/training the branches to grow out sideways a little more than usual? Looks pretty sweet. Those style plants would actually do great if you stretched a net over them @ the height they are currently at, lollipop some of the lower growth, then move into 12/12. You'll get some nice top colas with good spacing & support on whatever grows thru the net, and it will keep them a lil more under control, too.
