That's a fair point Ace.I don't believe their is a rebuttal against what you've stated for the jury:).In all honesty if someone has already been late more than once they should be DQ'd,the others ,if they're late again it's a DQ.The rest of us should get one pass if were ever late.THIS IS WHAT IS FAIR !

No one can complain if they are disqualified,if they were late.Broken rules are broken rules.
I absolutely agree, I think this is perfectly fair AND easy to implement. There is no reason that we should have to accept a flawed solution when a better, workable one is right there.

To eliminate any bias that you all or any of you may or may not think I have, I asked my lovely wife of 10 years to weigh in on this. She is a dedicated yoga teacher and one of the most "morally" correct people that I know.

After consulting with her, I've decided that as it stands
THERE WILL CURRENTLY BE NO DQ FOR A LATE UPDATE.
AND
^THIS IS EVERYONE'S LAST CHANCE!

My wife made it clear to me that our 8 year old has no problem turning his homework in every week, there have even been MULTIPLE times he's had an assignment and had to upload pictures to email to his teacher. HE'S EIGHT. Hopefully everyone here is an adult, because if you're not, you can't win any prizes. (Sorry I didn't make that clear sooner)
That being said, most adults pay taxes and hold jobs, both responsible things to do. Punctuality is one of the most important qualities for a "responsible" person to have, and the bottom line is
Late is Late- One minute or one week
THERE WILL BE NO MORE CHANCES! LATE IS LATE FOLKS

I'm sorry to those of you who have been following the rules and updating on time, this is not fair to you, and I can do nothing to be fair to everyone and try to stay
"within the spirit of the competition".
This choice has been the lesser of two evils.
I can only suggest that each of you take the time to carefully make your final votes when the time comes...

I won't be giving anymore "grace periods" either. If you can get on RIU to say that your update will be late, update then or just drop. I have no pity for an adult who is less responsible than an eight year old.... His teacher won't accept late homework. As @AlaskanMedMan pointed out to me, a college professor won't accept late finals...
LATE UPDATING WILL FROM NOW ON BE CONSIDERED AS NOT UPDATING
When I stated that updates are to be done weekly, that meant "at a minimum, every 7 days"

It's either that or EVERYONE updates on one specific day, if you don't update THAT day on or before 11:59 PM Alaska standard Time, You're out

I really don't want to go that route though.

ARE THERE ANY QUESTIONS? OR QUITTERS?

I'm trying to keep this serious and fun while trying to stay
"within the spirit of the competition".
Thanks for not adding to the drama or getting sucked in
so its cool to post a little early if were going to be unavailable the exact 7th day correct?

I like it but I'm not so sure it's fair to give a pass to people who were already late once, but not a future pass to people who have thusfar never been late. I think the rules should be the same for everyone, either we ALL get a late update pass or no one does, it just doesn't seem fair otherwise you know? Otherwise someone could get DQed later for their first late update when people are still competing with two late updates, and that would be bullshit. I'm fine with giving people a pass but we gotta give it to everyone, not just the people who already used theirs, right?
I am jus glad there is detail on the concept of "weekly". @Ace Yonder to condem ppl for breaking the rules the asking for the same is not what I was looking for when this was first brought up, what I wanted was for this to be brought to light as it was starting to become common, and i stress myself about updating on time. IMO rules are a way keep things fair.
Me nor anyone else should be allowed to break the rules
Been told since a kid "2 wrongs don't make it right."

I actually never condemned anyone, all I have been after since the beginning is fair treatment for everyone, e.g. I want EVERYONE to follow the SAME rules. If those rules are that 1 late post is allowed, then so be it, if those rules are that 0 late posts allowed, fine by me. But what I DON'T like is for SOME people to follow one set of rules, and for other people to follow a different set. Personally, I never plan on updating late so it doesn't affect me directly, but I would like everyone involved to be competing on even ground. If some people are to be allowed a late pass, everyone should be, if no one is to be given a late pass then none should be handed out retroactively. That's how I feel about it. You can keep your condemnations for your own personal use.

U should reread what I wrote, since u think I am referring to you. Should a not tagged u, didn't see I quoted u. Saying fight for DQ or except it, more ppl not following rules cuz the one before didn't is not a answer. If I show late I DQ that simple. Feel like we are on same page for most the part.

I work full time, sometimes six days a week...I don't miss my updates....bu apparently I missed something in this thread...someone wanna summarize this mess so I can understand what the hell is going on?
a number of people posted late updates. someone brought up that it is a violation of rules. frozen said he was too busy to deal, so he let group decide. chaos ensued. frozen says late updates are forgiven, but future late updates are automatic DQ.

Sorry I got defensive, upon re-reading it I understand what you were saying, you weren't saying "For Ace to condemn people and then..." it was more "Hey Ace, my intention wasn't to condemn people and then..."

right and fair are two entirely different things. In real life doing the right thing may be a better lesson, but in a competition fair trumps right, at least IMHO.
