6500 k For Flowering?

If I understand correctly, 6500 k is about the same spectrum as daylight? And plants obviously flower outside under daylight, so it should be possible to flower indoors under 6500 k lights right? I know its not as efficient as a reduced spectrum, but it will work, or am I wrong?

6500 is good for growing only - day white - it's closer to the effect of the sun in the summer , for flowering is good to use the lowest and warmest light - 2700 K - or warm white - it's close to the sun light in the autumn when the outside plants bloom. It's the same when you use Metal Halide bulb which has 6500 K for the growing cycle, and High Pressure Sodium for the flowering cycle. Good luck

not true, I know a guy who grew & flowered with a combination of 6 6500 K and 2 3000 K T5 HO tubes, beautiful big buds and nice short plants.
Exactly 'a combination', straight 6500k for flowering causes straetching and light buds, I know I tried it when My 2700k bulb smashed and I couldnt get a replacement for my 250wattcfl reflector a few yrs back.

I'm flowering with a 1000w MH bare bulb 3700k Philips, I'll let you know how It finishes up. My last grow I flowered with a 400w HPS so either way I think this one's gonna be better.
