600W HPS Light Question

I have a 600W HPS light that I have been using for at least 3 harvests. I noticed today that the light tends to turn itself off and then right back on (after a slight delay) repeatedly but not consistently.

Would this be a ballast problem or do I need to replace my bulb?

Sounds like the bulb is dying.

I switch mine every 6 months to a year, but it is on every day. The box that the bulb comes in says 24,000 hours, so according to hortilux, it should last almost 3 years.

Don't forget to clean your reflector shield.

I would try replacing the bulb before replacing the ballast, or borrow an old light bulb from a buddy and test it in your room to see if it is the bulb or the ballast, or even the socket. Make sure everything is securely connected.

agree with keefers26 sounds like your bulb is dying.
