Nothing much happening still just waiting for the transplanted clones to root into there soil.

My Snow White (feminized) seeds arrived today. I've put 6 of them into rockwool cups to germinate.

If some of my clones don't make it im going to grow some Snow Whites in there pots instead.

Just trying to decide what to do. All 6 of my snow white seeds have sprouted. But the clones, still nothing happening. They aren't dieing (apart from some leaves) much but they aren't growing either. Not sure if I should rip all or some clones out and grow the snow whites instead.

I decided to take 3 clones out, and keep 3.

So I've put 3 snow whites into pots.

With the three clones that I took out, 2 of them had really good roots already so I decided to keep them in some other pots. Although I don't know what im going to do with them because I don't have room to grow them. The final clone had bugger all roots and looked pretty unhealthy so I killed it (plus it was looking at me funny).

So now my grow will be 3 x clones off my female mother, and 3 x feminised snow white from seed.

And the other 2 clones, I'll probably give to a mate or something.

Here is a pic of my mother, I cut her right back about a month ago, and im attempting my first LST on her.

She does not look healthy I know.

As you can see she has some nute burn from a few weeks ago, I messed up the nute dosage and over fertilised her. She is recovering OK now.

I topped her at the 2nd node so that she had 4 main colas, although one didn't make it so that became 3 main colas. Then over the last 3 weeks I've been tying each of the three colas down every few days.

And now I can see the benefits of LST. Im starting to see a lot of new tops growing out from the middle (which im tying down also), which in about 2 months time im hoping will be covered in buds :)

Im not keeping this mother, im taking her through to bud with the rest of this grow. I'll take some clones off the snow whites and keep one of them as my new mother.

Heres some pics of my new feminized snow white seedlings which have all sprouted.

And also just a few of the left over clones that im giving to a mate.

I've got them all under fluros at the moment, just until they get big enough for the HPS

I can't work out how to get my camera not to focus on the soil and instead focus on the plant

My seedlings seem to be growing a bit slow.

I planted them 9 days ago, and they sprouted 7 days ago. They are all at about the same height (2-3 inches). For the first 5 days they were under fluros. Now they are under my 600 watt HPS (at about 3 feet distance). Here is some pics at 7 days since sprouting. They are just starting to get there 2nd leaf set. Is that slow? I think from memory my last grow was a fair bit quicker.

looks kinda streched
It does? The top of that one is only 2 inches from the soil (check the lighter next too it).

I thought if anything it was too short for 7 days?

I was looking in another thread to compare mine to other peoples and found this guys plant. Checkout the stretched one in the mdidle :)

ya to steched, when u transplant just burry the stem up until the bottom of the leafs and it will be shorter and the part u burryed will start to grow roots

OK, hit a major problem tonight.

I checked all my seedlings, and every one of them has all these whitey/yellow dots starting to form over the leaves. It looks a lot like nutrient burn. In fact im certain it is. Its too small to take a photo of.

The problem is I have never been able to find a good potting mix. I can't find Fox Farm anywhere around here, or anything similar. I've done two soil grows in total, including this one, and each time the potting mix I've used has been too nutrient rich. I've done it again.

I tried a different brand potting mix this time which was organic based and from what I could understand on the label, it contained only low amounts of nutrients. It was formed from compost and it said it was well suited to growing herbs and vegetables. I mixed it with 25% perlite and 25% vermiculite.

Anyway every one of my plants have nutrient burn and need rescuing or it will get worse. And I still have damn 10 bags of this potitng mix that I haven't used yet.

So I've gone back to what I know. Hydroponics. I only have 1 hydro grow under my belt but suprisingly I did much better with hydro than these latest soil grows. Here is a pic from my hydro grow:

Tonight I transplanted all of my seedlings, and also my mother, into a rockwool/hydrotron mix.

I'm not going to bother setting up pumps and reservoirs etc for this grow, because this time im using Rockwool mixed in with the hydrotron so it will hold moisture very well. I will water manually, but I'll only have to do it once every 4 days or so during veg, and once every 2 days during flowering. I've got some Canna hydro nutes left over from last grow that im going to use.

Here are some pics in their new pots

See how sick the mother looks? Thats where the seedlings were headed if I didn't save them from that soil. Too many nutrients she couldn't handle. I don't know if the mother is going to recover or not, she's pretty messed up, and it was a big transplant (roots EVERYWHERE).

Im a bit pissed off but what can you do? Its all part of learning I guess. So my grow is now hydro.

wow that sucks
I agree. I spent like $150 bucks on that soil and still no good.

Next time I grow in soil, im going to just get some top soil delivered from the local nursery. I'm not going to bother buying potting mix. Every potting mix I've tried has burnt my plants.

I wish you could buy that Fox Farm Ocean Forest around here, but I can't find it anywhere.

So anyway its hydro for now.

Nice start, you should consider using square pots so you can get your girls closer to each other for better light distribution and you can probably cram another 2 more aswell.

Here is a pic of one of the burnt seedlings. This is the worst one.

As you can see things were headed downhill and I had to get them out of that soil.

Im pretty sure they will recover fine though in there new hydro setup.

I soaked the rockwool in a solution of Canna Vega at 450ppm, with a light dose of rooting hormone added. They will take 4-5 days to recover I think.
