I just bought a 600w Apollo dimmable ballast, cool tube, 2X Apollo hps bulbs--for $141. I hope it wasn't a mistake, but the price sure was right.

Bought a dozen...actually 13(one spare) because of their pricing. They were sent back within a month. One burnt out and they were dam noisy. Hope you have better luck than I did.

I'm using one and although it's not too quiet my fans are a bigger noise problem than the ballast. When I shut the door with just the ballast on you won't be able to hear it at all. I can't speak on the longevity because I haven't had it that long but the reviews online don't seem too bad. The good reviews outweigh the bad and a lot of people won't take the time to leave a review in the first place if everything is working fine. Higher priced brands have their share of defective products too, shouts out to Microsoft. Shipping seems to be most peoples problem with their bulbs getting fucked up. I'm a wee bit nervous because I still haven't tested my HPS. I was going to wait until my 12/12 seed babies caught up to my clones and showed sex but I'm probably going to switch it out tomorrow to make sure it's okay.

Sir.Ganga--were you using the Apollo ballast as well? What did you replace the Apollo bulbs with?
