600 watt in a 4x2, yay or nay?

opinions? Pros, cons. This will be for flowering, which will start soon with a journal.

how many plants? The foot print for a 600hps is 4x4

A super reflective space may help. But still I think you'd be very under illuminated. 600hps watts would be about 200 par watts x 16 sg ft.

I use more than double that amount of light.

Lol. 12. I'm trying to make this hard.

I'm currently running a air cooled 600 hps in a 2x2 not doing too bad to say the least.

u can do 8 plants with a 600 hps, just don't do any training on them at all only lst to keep them short, and make sure to measure your area under the lights u have a 4x4 foot print to work with, u can do 2 rows of 4 plants and rotate the plants daily in a 90 degree, and i will start flowering them like after a month of veg. Gl

also i will not use pots bigger than 3 gal, and make sure to get some mylar reflecting material. Gl

I have a 6 hundy in a 1m2 tent, with 40 plants under - no problems what so ever

Yes it will work good. I used to run a 600w in a 5x2 space with great results. Just a basic batwing reflector and correct air flow.

It's in a tent anyway lol got the 3x3 above it in the loft

Make sure to get your temp dialed in, and keep air flowing.

As long as you've got some height to work with and no crazy ambient temps, you should be fine.
