6" PVC system

Very nicely done!
Thanks WB. I shoulda done a little more lower branch trimming. At wk2 I took off the bottom 1/3 but didn't want to lollipop them completely. Now I'm rethinking that decision.....much too crowded. But the system seems to be working well and I guess that's really the purpose of this DIY thread. I didn't mean to steer it in the grow journal direction.

Cuttings taken on 2/23. 6" Rooted Clones put in Aero/NFT system on 3/2. I let them get established and went to 12/12 on 3/7
Here they are today.

Everything is doing well except I blew a HPS bulb last night and had to use a MH temporarily. You can see it in the photos below.

:bigjoint:man those are kicking ass for only 3 weeks in!! I am liking that system more and more! I saw those 6"x6"x4" t's at HD yesterday for $21. They didn't have the one like you; these were t's and yours kind of y, if I make any sense. I couldn't find the parts for an inlet to the res though, and I wsa looking in the sink area with the sink sprayers, drains, etc.... You think I could get by using the t's??-->good price and dont have to order them?
I love how heavy duty these can be made compared to evrything else I 've used/seen.......

Hey, your grow is doing awesome and thanks for stopping by my journel!

Thanks!!!

Thanks. No, actually what I have ARE the Tee's. I know what you're talking about. They're called Tee-Wye's. Look for those black rubber caps with the hose clamp too. They're much nicer than the PVC glue caps when it comes time for cleaning. Buy 'em....thats a good price if they're schedule 40. I think I paid 29 bucks each.

What part are you referring to when you say the "inlet part for the rez"?

Is there such a thing as "too many buds"? :blsmoke:

Day 25 from 12/12 and just beginning to show some frost.

You'll notice I haven't had a chance to replace the MH bulb I used in an emergency when the right fixture's HPS burned out 2 days ago.

Man those are looking shweeeeet!!! Too many frosty buds, huh:hump:---that sounds like a problem; need some help??? Looking most awesome, gohydro!

Yeah those were sch40 t's, nice and heavy duty. They were $20 and change..... Good point you mentioned.......so I want sch40 on everything??<----it's what I've been getting.
The inlet to the res.....you use something I thought was like those sleeve things your sprayer on your (kitchen)sink goes down into?? The return lines<---word I was looking for...... Thinking Iam just going to get some of those GH grommets like on the AF's.......

Got your next batch of clones lining up yet??----and what are you going to run this next time(same??)?

Have fun and be safe!!!!:joint::bigjoint:

OH! I know what you're talking about....where the 4" side of the tee goes in to the rez. All I'm doing is stubbing out of the tee with a 3" long piece of 4" PVC....just long enough to get through the lid. I didn't want it much longer because I want to be able to lift the tubes up just a few inches and slide out the rez. The seal you see around the pipes is "duct seal" It's what the wrap penetrations (usually electrical) when they come through the side of your house. Looks and feels like Play-Doh and it stays soft. Look for it in the electrical aisle at Lowes or HD where the cable ties are. Its like a block of grey clay about half as thin as a brick.

As far as the PVC you don't NEED schedule 40 ( or schedule 80 which is even stronger)....you can use DWV (Drain, Waste and Vent) which has much thinner walls and is not meant for pressure.

I have 3 Moms and the 3 tubes have 4 from each Mom. I mentioned earlier that I had given some clones to a buddy of mine and he tossed them in to his gro-op along with some of his and didn't keep track of what was what. Later down the road he gave me back some clones but "didn't know what they were". He didn't even know if all the clones came from the same strain. So heres the deal and I'll ask people later on to vote on what they think they are... I gave him Chrystal, Bubblegum, Aroura Indica and Papaya. He had White Widow. What I got back is anybody's guess. The tube on the far right DEFINITELY looks like a different strain but is is also under an "emergency MH" bulb..(my HPS blew 2 days ago and I havent been able to grab a replacement yet.) It LOOKS different in the pix cause it's under blue light but (which is all you can see) but it IS a different strain. SO...to make a long story longer I do have Moms, but no clones taken just yet. I wanna see what is what.

........so that is a "no" on the clone question---thought maybe you had grabbed a few for when you do figure out what is what, or at least what you like.....so you'll be re-vegging then?

Thanks very much for the info too!! Think I got about most of what I need but I need to get this other aero/nft 35 siter going first, but I willl get this thing put together in the meantime and I think it may get a new room of its' own.......

Great luck and thanks again, gohydro!!

Finally got a chance to snap a pic before the HPS's fired up and made my ladies look all washed out or N deficient.

No, actually it's not a "no" just yet. As I said I have 3 Moms and each tube is devoted to (plants came from) 1 Mom. I THINK tube 3 and the associated Mom is different than tubes 1 & 2. I will take about 50- 60 cuttings about 2 weeks prior to harvest (about 20 from each Mom) and when I get a chance to compare the finished product I'll know which cuttings to move in to the Aero system. I still won't know what strain it is though.

You're welcome on the info....anything I can do to help a fellow RIU'r.
