6" inline fan and carbon filter setup?

Hi, I recently bought a 6" inline fan and carbon filter. The filter and fan are fairly large and dont fit in my 2x3 tent to well. Would having the filter inside and ducted to the inline fan outside the tent still have the desired effect as having it inside the tent? Thanks in advance.

The filter has to be inside. The fan can be outside. You want air to draw through the filter and be forced outside. If your filter is outside you will only filter the air outside. I've got a the 4x3 with the same filter and fan. I have everything inside, but had to make some bends to accommodate the ducting ect. The problem with that is it cuts down on air flow. Good luck!

Yeah but I have a reservoir that takes up the whole space like 2 1/2 - 3' tall.
