55 ppm tap water is good for Bubbleponics?

Hi everyone!

Im about to start a new DWC grow and saw lot of people here with 200, 300, or even more ppm from their tap water.

Just want to know if my tap water is good to go (55 ppm). Got a concern about the chlorine

I also got a filter in the kitchen, the water that comes out is 43 ppm.



We drink the water directly from the filter, but dont know if the filter can take off some micronutrients that the plant needs


What you guys recommend? Should I use the filter or use just tap water?

If you leave the water sitting uncovered overnight, the chlorine will evaporate out of it. So, that's not a problem. 55ppm is probably fine, but distilled water (0 ppm) would be better. That way you can control the nutrients your plant gets easily with whatever nutrients or additives you want.

I think I'm gonna use just tap water and let it sitting overnight.

Its my first DWC and don't want to go hard with nutrients. Got Dyna-grow, Dyna-bloom, Dyna-protekt, H2O2 and Thats it. Just Ph water on the first couple weeks. No additives.

On the Dyna schedule says that is good to use with 50 ppm water.

Today I'm gonna plant my second germinated seed, and when she sprout I will create a new journal.

Hell if my tap water was only 55 I would just use that instead of filtering it! You also don't want to use up your filter to take off a little bit of ppm's. Once you flower your plants they will most likely need some calmag as a supplement. Keep an eye out for the deficiency so you can counter it ASAP. Or you can start adding calcium around the 2-3 week of flower.

I got some Botanicare Cal-Mag here but counting with the Cal and Mag % that the Dyna-gro Nutrients
already have, my plan is to put a little bit during the flowering period only if my ladies show signs of deficiency.

My tap water is 2-300 ppm, I don't filter it and my plants are fine. Lower ppms just means there is less stuff in the water, the 2-300 in my water probably doesn't have much that my plants benefit from, but it isn't hurting them either. You will definitely need cal-mag if you are using filtered water, unless you have a base or additives that are already reinforced like your dyna-grow. Like MJ said, keep your eye on them and counter the deficiency quickly if it appears. If you have botanicare's cal mag Plus it has a hell of a lot more than cal and mag, its got a whole slew of trace minerals in there, iron and copper and such. Really great additive.

yea i'm on well water and my ppms are super high..like around 1300ppm high..thats why i run RO..brings my ppm to around 40..i still need cal/mag along with my nutes,and this run..i'm running dyna-grow..i got off the GH flora series..was tired of the brown stains on my roots with that line up.

What Dyna-grow nutrients are you using?
Right now I'm just running Ph water, has been four days since I planted one germinated seed.
In soil I used to wait 2 weeks to start nutes with 1/4 stregth. Dont know how it works on DWC..
How long should I wait until start with nuts?

Yes, I think Im gonna use some Cal Mag.. But Im gonna go easy on that.
I buyed Dyna-gro nutrients because of Homebrewer, he did a lot of tests using it and I really enjoyed the results.
He used Cal Mag too but he said its just because he was using RO water..
He said that too much CalMag can be bad for your plants, Im gonna do my own tests anyway.

55 ppm tap is amazing. Mine is 2-300. I don't leave it out I pour it right into the res. Been doing so for years.

110 ppm from the tap straight to the reservoir for me.

It was what I did. from the tap straight to the res..
But I'm gonna try to evaporate the chlorine anyway

Gen hydro nova grow for veg and nova bloom for flower. Just started using nova grow with my current plant, before I would use nova bloom throughout, honestly didn't notice a difference. I try to keep the ppm below 1500 when in late flower.

I heard a lot about GH Nova nutrients, most people say that is simple and solid.
When you star the feeding ?

Around two weeks or so into veg, I start off 1/8th strength, it's great nutrient. Super concentrated.

Yeah, that letting water sit out overnight is just a huge pain. I run 250gal of RES's and couldn't imagine not using straight tap water.

wow....You are running a big system, is 250gal of water just for one RDWC?
How much is your tap ppm?

200gal for flower and 50gal for veg. Tap is 110ppm city water

stick with Dyna-Gro man... you made the right choice. I start feeding seedlings 150ppm as soon as they get into my DWC system which is probably about a week from sprout or maybe a few days longer. If you see yellowing in the leaves, hit them with 100 - 150ppm.

I planted the germinated seed directly in perlite, she is already in the buckets but I'm watering manually.
Don't think she can drink the water from the buckets yet.

How long until the root go out from the net pot? (I'm using 6" net pot)
