5 watt/100 gal, dual-output aquarium pump enough for a 10 gal tote?

With the 3.5" net pots in, I can fill my reservoir with 4 gallons of water/nutes and maintain a 1" gap between the solution and the pots. Will my air pump suffice? I've got 2x12" air stones hooked up now and after running for a few minutes the majority of the underside of the cover is covered with fine mist. This should do, right? I'm exceeding the 1 watt/gal rule for the pump, anyway. Might go back to the pet store tomorrow to get a variety of stones/wands to see what works best. Anyone running a similar setup? If so, I'd love to check it out! Thanks in advance!bongsmilie

It'll do fine. I was using a Tetra 30-60 gallon dual output (from Wally World) on an 18gal rez and it did fine, but when my plants got bigger I got a much more powerful pump. The 100 on a 10gal sounds pretty good to me.

Thanks for the input! I picked up a couple more air stones today. 2 Top Fin brand 6" Fine Bubblers. I'm pretty excited to see how they compare to those I already have. I'll post some pics once everything's set up!

the rule as I have read and seen it fine is one watt of pump power to one gallon of water. So you are cool. I just found some lime wood air stones myself. Airstones and roots are fun to watch. So far my roots have gobbled up a bag or two of those little blue ones. Also I found a peice of pvs pipe I forgot i thru in a bucket as a weight. Also the more airstome surface the better.
