BUT FAST FORWARD TO 2020 HOW EASY ARE YOU GUYS PULLING WEIGHT WITH THE NEWER LED TECH THE CMHS AND DOUBLE ENDED WHOS GETTING 5 POUNDS PLUS AND HOW???
My goal is 5lbs off of two 720w LEDs. Probably won’t hit it but this all just started out as something to keep me busy during quarantine before spiraling out of control. I’ve got 30 something plants and at least $5,000 invested in the build. I tend to get carried away when I get into a new hobby F38017EC-2754-4456-8BB2-CEB8D6C8CA3E.jpegE28E85C9-CEF0-401D-9F36-77A8540F335E.jpeg

5-6lb is certainly attainable with them lights providing the space fits right.

My biggesf fucking headache the past year has been heat and humidity I got a 50 pint and a 20 pint hosed up too run forever and a 12 inch 1200 cfm fan hooked to a 8 inch phat can filter and humidiy wont drop below 55 in summer got a 8000 btu ac in the wall being ducted off the back out window with 8 inch exhust so rest of basment isnt baking my 5 fans in the room its 15 by 16 with 3 720s and a 630 cmh running all full blast it hovers up and down 80 to 88 i just went and picked up a 10000 btu to go on center 4 feet with the 8000 btu havent installed it yet oNCe i do im hoping that takes my environment to the promise land so i can seal and hook up a c02 nat gas generator
Pics are of this morning 12 days into flower.

360 gph back to rez.

R/O water
Ph 5.8 to 6.3
900 to 1200 ppm at any given time until "Flush" is started.

AN- Connie coco base

GH- floralicious plus

GH- Flora blend

AN- Carbo load

Botanicare- Sweet Berry

Emerald harvest cal mag

Cyco- Zyme

FF- open sesame

ROCK- Resonator

Great white bennies and myco

Also Shot em with a sample bottle of mammoth p first week they ate it up.

Ill keep the feed posted with status shots and updates for everyone wjl takes this serious. Idk about all.of you but I invest 30.plus hours a week into this game it takes a particular type.of person to actually grow. Any idiot with a 1000 watt hps bulb can grow a lb and call themself a grower but to be good at it takes passion commitment amd down right obsession lmfao... i never grew a blade of grass before june of 2019 now im gettin 10.oz plus monsters well i was under 1000s se ac hoods with cmh supp lighting. Ill be doing a 5 by 5 with a cmh and Chps yes a ceramic hps i said it tjey have pne but thier designed to go with cmh to grow fire ass bud like leds but without the big upfront imvestment amyome feel free to googles ceramic hps and post thoughts on the spectrum.

Get a minisplit. By far the best investment I’ve made along with my 50 pint dehu. I run LED and keep my room warmer than most at 87F. Humidity sits at 55% all day. Perfect VPD. And I agree about it being an obsession. I spend at least an hour a day in there doing chores. I’ve never grown anything either but I’m hooked now.

I hope so. I built two 5’x5’ tables and have the plants trained mostly under the 4’x4’ light footprint with my scrog. Everything has been good so far but I’m only halfway thru flowering. A lot can go wrong from now to then but I’m staying vigilant and hoping for the best.

I know alot of guys dont care about vpd and you clearly did your research about whats going on here. As long as you watch your environment and pay daily attention nothing will go wrong. What kind of lights are you running what brand ??

to get 5 pounds indoors your going to need to plant in 5 gal buckets. use foxfarms ocean forest or roots organics soil. you need about 40-50 plants. you need 5x 1000 watt lights. as far as space needed you need a whole room. there ya go.
This guy is not spot on.

You can use whatever medium you want, you don’t need 5000w of lighting, and you don’t need that many plants. Here’s a real answer

you need about 6x12 ( 5- 5.5 x 5-5.5 feet for the footprint) and some space to move. Next. You can use whateveryou want, coco , soil, a mix of various things, u wanna so needless shit you can have Automated system.
What I do, do pull 8-10 pounds with 4000w of flowering is

I use 4x1000w double ended fixture, I put anywhere from 16-42 plants per light , I use JUST perlite as my medium, gh nutrients, andmy room like this, right now.

They’re alibaba LEDs. Chinese knock off lights have come a long way. There really isn’t anything special about LED diodes and drivers. I’ve got a good 90-100 cola sites off 30 something plants. They were topped, a scrogged and tied down. Environment is dialed in. Nute recipe is dialed in. No pest problems. CO2 supplementation should help. My only worry is that I’ve never done this before so something is bound to go wrong! So far so good and I’m in the home stretch. Just a few more weeks left until harvest and we get to see if I’m as good at this as I think I am . Even if I fuck it all up and only end up with a pound of shit, I won’t be mad. This has been a TON of fun and kept me busy thru all this pandemic bullshit. And the next run will be bigger and better (and won’t cost nearly as much!)

Yeah, tell @Renfro that. Dude pulls 5 off one plant.

Thats less than .5 gram per watt. Most people would consider that a huge failure. 40 plants @ 5 gallons each is 200 gallons of soil LMAO. 100 gallons of soil is more than enough for yields like that even for a new amateur.

@Renfro shouldn’t be compared to the rest of us mere mortals. I’ve got 8’ tall super healthy out door plants grown in California sun that won’t yield close what he does in his basement. It’s insane! Super appreciative of him though. He helped answer a ton of dumb questions I had when I was getting started. Same with @Gardenator (when both dudes clearly have better things to do then help a noob like me.)

Im just saying, to claim you need 40-50 plants.... nonsense. 1# plants are nothing special these days.

Oh I agree 100%. I went with a high plant count for my first run cause i figured it would leave less room for error. I started with almost 75 clones and my final plant count is close to 40. Next run will be closer to 15-20 now that I’ve sorta figured out what I’m doing. I hand water right now and hate every minute of it. I’ve got an automated watering system ready to go for my next run and I still won’t run that many plants again.

Big plants is definitely the way to go.
2-3oz per plant and you're going to kill yourself before you get close to 5lbs.

If I had 8 of these 20200512_022802.jpg in my 4x8 instead of the one + 7 other strains 20200517_050246.jpg, the tent would have produced 144 ounces off 2kW hps.
And I had (still don't) no clue what I was doing.

Strain+big plant=weight.

Even 15-20 is a LOT. For a 4x4 or 5x5, i would only ever do 4 plants for the sake of manageability. I like to stay well within the legal limits where i live and these days I'm a very light smoker. If i have to veg for 10-12 weeks and flower for 12-14, thats fine. As long as everything goes alright, that will last the year. Quality over quantity. The whole reason to grow is to avoid paying crazy prices for commercially grown garbage. Hand watering is no problem when youve only got 4. Plus I like a variety of strains; with that comes a variety of water and nutrient demands. Automated watering is best suited for large grows of clones off a single mother.

I am considering setting up a "motha tent" and keeping a clone of the best strain from each grow but keeping a mother alive to pull one or two clones a year off her is hard to justify. A mother tent with just a 315 cmh or an even smaller LED board will still cost about a dollar a day to keep running. Hard to justify but if i ever come across some unicorns..... maybe.
