So i did some looking for you on the huge yielders you were inquireing about. After a couple of dead ends i ran into a reputable source of info that gave me a link to a breeder i will be useing from now on. http://www.emeraldtriangleseeds.co.uk/strains.html I was recommended the kushes for the biggest possible yields and the femminized seeds. Made sure to ask about eight footers for you cause of your nice high ceilings ;) Ill be switching to these guys asap, i just have to figure out what looks the tastiest. Enjoy your faaat budz bud :)

With a name like mastadon kush you cant really go wrong right?? Thats what im getting.
i got some smart pots and replanted yesterday. Im hoping they help me grow big like you. Im useing regular soil instead of the passive hydro because ive never tried that before. Maybe down the road sometime.

Very nice! I'm going fewer and bigger next round. I used to have 2 rows of 3 1000watt in xxl aircooled hoods. I would drop 2 1000 watts in sockets in the middle isle for side & bottom growth. 1 day I stood up, turned around, and if I wasn't wearing a baseball cap I would have burned the entire side of my face on a Digilux 1000w hps bulb. That was the last day for barenaked bulbs

haha yes!!!! that is one down side to bare bulbs, my wife can contest to that.....we had a little "fun" under the fake sun about a month ago....which is great... SEX and sticky buds like having my wildest fantasies come true...lol anyways she stood up and got a nice bulb burn on her ass cheek.....I still can see it. Worse than a lot of muffler burns i've seen.

Ha,no prob, he's pretty much the best vert grower I've ever seen. If your embarrassed with your yields then most of us should just get out of the game now. ha. Your doing it all right just need the genetics for sure. I found a great thread talking about the differences between Critcal mass from Mr. Nice and Critical + from Dinafem. I guess Dinafem just reworked Critical mass from Mr. Nice and made it a little better, they even tried to compensate Mr. Nice but he refused and was very impressed how they improved it ever so slightly so I'd go with Dinafem if your buying seeds.
Good to hear I just ordered today! Dinafem Critical + the only concern I have is that they are feminized worried bout nanners. but the dinafems I've grown before have been good about not getting the dreaded male nanners. But I need feminized right now my clones were killed by my partner. Note to self * "IF YOU WANT SOMETHING DONE RIGHT.....DO IT YOUR DAMN SELF"

So impressed with my Critical so far, transplanted into 2gals and put under HID and they are just absolutely going for it, an inch per day so far, should cut down on veg time and increase yields. They are also branching beautifully without any topping or pruning. I have now topped and fimmed a few while leaving some to grow naturally, trying to find the best way to go for vertical growing.

Transplanted a week ago and have easily doubled in size (sorry about the hps)

I'm sorry my fellow ninja!! I read through them, I see a lot of your posts on here, I thought I did... my bad. I always thought with kush they were lower yielding but better quality, Maybe grown tree style they push out a lot more. I was always bias against kush for most of my growing life. because everyone just wanted kush... so I decided to grow more of the golden oldies, the "kinds" you always hear about as a kid..... Acapulco Gold, Blueberry, Strawberry Cough, Norther Lights, Trainwreck, NYC Sour Diesel, Skunk....etc. At least when I was younger that is just some that I always heard of & wanted to grow cause the name was cool....lol Now I push more for the populars. I've only been growing tree style for two years. Not a lot of time for experiments... ya kno?

I didnt know that about kushes quality vs. yield. I thinks im still going to hit the mastadon. Seems like the best of both worlds lol
im still new at this, your stuff looks top shelf :)

Yeah I'm gong to check into that Mastadon Kush asap. And I'm not sure if what I said is true about their yield versus quality. Just rumors I've heard on indoor small indoor kush plants

Heard the same too, fairly common knowledge that kush strains aren't the heaviest yielders. Good yielding plant but not a crazy yielder. I have a few differents kushes growing now because people love them so it's worth growing a few. Can't wait to see how critical grows and flowers. So far growing really rapidly with great branching, just a sturdy plant. A little worried about how fast its growing for a vertical set up. I think its going to take a lot of work to keep it away from the lights as it grows so fast, also it will probably take a lot of support if it flowers as supposed to. Looks real leggy so far but I'm sure it will be worth the extra effort it the end.

Curious to know with your experience Whiskey what you prefer for growing Vertical style, real bushy sturdy plants or longer taller plant to take advantage of the vertical lighting?

Definitely does better with taller tree style to take advantage of that bulbs reach for sure!! My Headband just spreads so wide the way it is I decided to do some (kyle kushmans) pruning techniques (you tube)....mixed with some of my own techniques to really sturdy up those branches. Even growing tree style I still bend and snap branches, I even take a pliers and crush through stalks & branches where I want them to hold more weight. I use a pliers because sometimes it's hard to pinch with fingers, and with the metal you can really feel when you have done it right.... or too much. thicker the branches thicker the buds!! assuming everything else is dialed in! But if you grow something close to 48'' before 12/12, you are going to get some poundage bro! how many lbs. and quality is up to you and how much light you give to it and where you put the light and what you feed it.

Nice, Ya 48" plants would be beastly! Long veg time though. This is what I got going on, had some issues during Veg so I flipped them before they were as big as I wanted but I'm still confident I'll get a decent yield.

I think it was you that led me to Kushman style pruning already, it work hey? I'll be trying that, good tip on the pliers. When do you do it? One thing I did which I think will be good for vert style is taking the lower branches that are reaching closest to the lights and snap and bend them down. Keeps them from getting too close the the light and allows light to penetrate the interior and far side of the plant if it is on the edge of the room only getting one side of light.

Love the set up bro! I start right after rooted clones, I have even grind-ed off like an eighth inch out of a needle nose pliers so that no matter how hard I squeeze I cant completely severe the branch when they are real small I start training, my new fav is twisting big branches with both hands in opposite directions until you feel it snap or giv way. I do the same with my lowers too but I usually clear off the bottom 6-8'' for ease of watering. Yeah dude you got some weight in that room for sure. I just hate maintaining ones even that size just because of how many more fits in the space. What you average per 600w those are 600's right? killer room bro look healthy/happy what strains?

To all who read this.....

how do you all feel about the dark period before harvest? Any info on hands on experience with it only. What did it improve, did it mature more quickly? more resin?, quantity, quality? How many days/ hours dark? Water during not at all just before.... what?

Ha, no doubt on the less plants. This is a cakewalk for me now as I had a 250 plant SOG grow before this, taking 300 clones and watering 250 2 gal pots brutal!

You start Kushman pruning right after clones hey, good info bud, I just did a few to try it out on my little ones, makes me nervous to go pinching such young plants but I'm sure it does good. They're young enough that I can pinch with just my fingers. I twisted a stem as well in two spots up the main stem, it toppled over so I staked it. Is that common or did I just twist too hard? It was a pretty soft new stalk so I'm guess more woody stalks would hold better. Does each branch just get one twist or pinch near the base or do you do it multiple times at different stages of growth? I would rather do some pinching early then have to deal with caging and tying up branches for sure.

Ya those are 600's, This is only my second run with the vertical 600's and my last run was an embarrassment so I don't really have a realistic figure to give ya. I went with 600's cause I figure I can get the plants closer to the lights and get better coverage than with 1000w therefore fit more plants. Seen guys get some impressive yields with 600's. As for strains the plants in the foreground are King Kush, they got destroyed by mites early in life and I'm just impressed they survived witch is why they are smaller. Most of the room is F-Bomb, I got them as clones and have no idea where or what lineage the plant has, can't find anything online so I figure either the name got messed up like a too baked grower version of telephone or its a locally bred strain, who knows. I would guess it's got something to do with THC bomb.

Check out the branching on this Critical, no pruning or anthing.

have you thought of bonzai approche to breaking branches with wraped wire? With enough wraps semi tight you would support enough to not need extra support. Also ive read that if you break the wrong direction, hor/vert, you can harm rather than help.

not currently, just take them and grind out a flat spot on the ends so when the pliers is completely squeezed the ends don't touch together if you use a bigger pliers to do bigger branches use the same method, I have done it so much now that I don't need to even grind it out....just use "finesse"!!
