thats the range general hydropinics says is ok for hydro grows...i'm new at this with a couple waterfarms and would appreciate you fellers experience with this.......local fat man

keep it more dialed. Ph should be 5.6-6.0. 5.8 being the sweet spot. I always keep my temp at 67 but 65-70 should be fine. Also not to be a downer but switch out that waterfarm system asap, its junk.

The optimal range for Hydro is 5.5 - 6.0.

Don't sweat the previous comment regarding the waterfarm. This person makes a claim and offers no evidence to back it up. In reality it's like 90% of the crap people say on here, a worthless opinion, treat it as such. He probably attempted to grow in one of them and like everything else in life he failed, but he now blames the waterfarm to mask his own incompetence.

Here is a thread where people are having great success using waterfarms. https://www.rollitup.org/indoor-growing/698231-waterfarm-club.html

I was given this early on, and am glad View attachment 2857707 It shows why you want your PH to fluctuate rather than keeping it pinned. Although keeping it pinned works just great for most, if you look 5.8 really is a sweet spot but at that you would never intake much or any Mn and not getting the best amount of Mag either unless you have additives. So really if you have a simple nute system (I use GH 3 part) you want to fluctuate to get the most out of the juice you are pouring in. Healthy system will rise in Ph over time, so I start at about 5.6 then let it drift to 6.2/3. Usually once its close to 6/6.1 I wait tell the next time I need to add water then drop it back down to 5.6 again and just repeat that. Another opinion, but its what I do and seems to work fine so far :). Above poster is right as well, your grow bucket isn't going to change really anything as long as your important elements are there light, nutes, water, and oxygen. As long as your system setup can adequately supply these there is no need to pay more for one plastic pale over another. (Make sure the system is light proof.)

Can we get an update on the ideal PH level for hydroponics? Gonna roll with 5.8 but hopefully there is some new info out there that someone can add. Happy Growing!

pH Scale

Introduction and Definitions:

Acidic and basic are two extremes that describe a chemical property chemicals. Mixing acids and bases can cancel out or neutralize their extreme effects. A substance that is neither acidic nor basic is neutral.

The pH scale measures how acidic or basic a substance is. The pH scale ranges from 0 to 14. A pH of 7 is neutral. A pH less than 7 is acidic. A pH greater than 7 is basic.

The pH scale is logarithmic and as a result, each whole pH value below 7 is ten times more acidic than the next higher value. For example, pH 4 is ten times more acidic than pH 5 and 100 times (10 times 10) more acidic than pH 6. The same holds true for pH values above 7, each of which is ten times more alkaline (another way to say basic) than the next lower whole value. For example, pH 10 is ten times more alkaline than pH 9 and 100 times (10 times 10) more alkaline than pH 8.

How are you a "well known member" if you can't even read the forum nevermind the millions of threads covering this same issue. On top of the DWC sub-section are some nice noob sticky threads you might find helpful.

yawnnn.... i keep running into you kids and responding in kind. i'm not gonna do it anymore. (i will remain calm..oohhhhmmm! lol) you already said i was wrong when i said, "isn't 7 neutral." so obviously your response to that being, "no, wrong," indicated you didn't know 7 is neutral. now, pull your head out of your ass, and look at the thread title. so you see it??? o.k. now read the first sentence the op wrote. now, you understand sonny??? it's ok to not know stuff, there's plenty i don't know. i just try to not put my foot in my mouth. you should try it too. i guess it's hard to put your foot in your mouth, with your head up your ass, huh. it is fun watching though, lol. carry on.........

Your PH being neutral wasnt meant to be rhetorical? Because as it reads you seem to ask the intial question followed up with common knowledge.

The last post in this thread was in 2013 and I chose this forum to ask my question. People ask questions in forums. What planet are you on?

Did you take that picture of your avatar at the Marine Room in La Jolla? Not trying to stalk you. I just like it when I can spot where a photo was taken, but I didn't know you can dab there.
