Although it has been quite easy to wrap my head around the concepts, I've spent too much money on this, and I'm messing with voltages too high for my tastes or experience level. Therefore I ask for clarification:20150112_233135.jpg

Green/yellow = ground wire
Brown = live wire (hot)
Blue = neutral wire

Also, any suggestions on where to run the ground wire..?

AC Load [brown]
AC Neutral [blue]

So I have some butt splices and male/female quick connects, and heat shrink tubing. What other connectors would streamline and make my project more legit and efficient?

I know I can make it work with what I have. That being said I want it to be very neat looking. I'm open to all suggestions about the entire wiring setup. I have an idea of how I want it done.

How would you do it?

Oh yeah, can I wire the fans together with the ac power to utilize one plug? Is there specifics to this process that I need to take great care to ensure it's done properly? Or is it just as simple and splicing them together properly at the right sections?

Ideal makes the Shure Push-Fits @ Home depot for ubercheap

[they also make push in Butt connectors, which I want to try....]

The Wago's are what I would really check out, they offer them in 2,3,5 wire configs, this is just what I had. Copper, strand 10-28 AWG, and there is a "new" line that is even smaller form factor, but I can't find it anywhere in the states.

Th Wago 222's are the shit! All over online, in some brick and mortars :peace:

From the negative on the driver, to the negative on the first cob. Then from positive on first cob to negative on second cob, and positive on second cob to negative on third and so on.. until it loops with the positive on the last cob to the positive from the driver..

Correct me if I'm wrong please! I love to double, hell triple check!

And I must say, these cob holders left much to be desired.. I don't like how the wires connect actually.20150113_234052.jpg

Any way to combat this issue? Is anyone covering these with anything? Does it look ok? I really don't want to have to redo it. All connections are snug, just some have a thread or two poking back just enough that I could only trim it just so.

If I were to guess I'd say green = ground, black = hot, white = neutral?

Wiring in a series should be:

+ Driver Output to 1st Cob + Positve...... 1st Cob -[negative output] to 2nd Cob + Positive and then so on to complete the loop....

Just glad to help, went thru all this recently, so all still fresh....

About those wire connections.
----------------I would redo them. If you were using old wire that has been sitting out, it can oxidate the wire up the sleeve. Left a really really long time the wire can actually rot, but usually it just makes strand, bend alot easier.

I like to cut back an inch or two for fresh wire on used cable....those strands have a chance of grounding when they are out like that....its a bitch, but don't shortcut now! Your in the homestretch :peace:

Bummer. The wire is brand new. It didn't bend too easily but the cob holder connections are pretty rigid. Is there anything I can cover then up with? I have redone them several times and it's just not going to be 100% with my skill level.. maybe I'll have to use different wire?

Maybe try to find some solid gauge or smaller gauge strand? Do you know the AWG gauge size on the wiring you are using?

The best way to make a stranded wire work with a push-in type connector is to twist the strands tightly and tin the twisted strands with solder before making the connection. That will keep the wires all together for a nice clean connection.
 
Top
