no, it wont. even though its messing up their light period times they are used to a bit its only 48hr and when the plant doesnt get the light like is was used to it thinks "oh fuck, the days just got shorter and im not getting enough light to survive, but i'll still try to keep the buds swelled and resin coated as long as possible so i can maybe reproduce), thats nowhere near long enough for it to hermie and seed up.ive never ever gotten a hermie from this, ever..

Hey I never did this, nor do I care to try even though there is some strains out there that the breeder says to give them 8/16 for the last 2 weeks. So if that what it takes, I just don't see what 0/24 or even 0/48 will do for a plant but make it sleep.
Like I said just 2 cents.

hmmm like i said do what you want i will do what works. photosynthesis is necessary for plants to produce. Then again i did take botany classes so i'm probably an idiot ya know

wait so its going to produce seeds?????????????
lol no, unless you got some hermie growing, then its alreadys producing seeds. But lets not confuse you.

Basically, your plant will think SHIT im dieing, and it'll coat its glands and bud sites to try and collect some pollen and reproduce.

Now as your in grow box, and you dont want to breed them, then it wont be able to find any pollen, but they'll still swell up. So potentially giving you a high thc content, HOWEVER, this figure may not be noticable. I can see it slightly increasing yield tho, but doubling? I dont see that happening.

I give 48 hours darkness when i start my flowering cycle...and right at the end of harvest...its doesn't hurt the plant at all.

Well... what I've heard is that the darkness and drop in temp tricks the plant into thinking it's the first frost of the Autumn. They produce more resin to stop the buds from freezing. I keep them in the dark for the last 48 hours, they don't catch fire or explode or anything, it seems quite safe.

im going to try it
thats what i would say just try it on a couple plants..if u got 2 of the same strain do it to one and the other just cut right after its 12hour dark period and see how it works.. i've gone as long as 72hours of dark but i didnt have the same strains..seems like it did more good then bad to me tho

my only guess is that when left in the dark the plant will start useing nutes from itself to try and subtitude for sunlight like a dieing plant does at the end of an outdoor grow
even trees do this when the winter is coming thats why the leave turn and die
