Hi there :D
I've ran a few runs with Nirvana's Papaya. A really nice strain. Can be grown really really small (got one finished at about an inch high) or normal height (got it to 1.2m most of the time).
Its not that strong but the high is great - very fun. Doesn't knock you down.

Times are like any other usual indica dominant - around 8-9 weeks of flowering.

It doesn't strech much at any stage.

You really should cure it for over 3 weeks. Unless you do so it smells and taste like cheep weed.

Its a really strong plant - you can feed it any crap and it will survive it. You could pump nutrients like crazy and it will react well. (of course you need to introdue the plant to the ferts - up the dose a bit every week)

As for your closet - I wouldn't use thoes warm white (red) CFLs. They just generate heat while the spectrume doesn't help that much.
At this stage a clone \ seedling can do well with one 45w CFL of daylight (6500K).

Good luck with everything else :D
Thanks for the info bro. With all the lights running I am maintaining a nice steady temp of 78-80 during the day and around 72-74 during the night.

Mixing of spectrums does help alot more than you think when using Cfls.

If this strain is as hearty as you say it is, IM sure it can handle the low temp of 80f

Yes I did, i got them from nirvana.

Very pleased with them, I had issues with the seeds. four have turned out to be duds. I contacted nirvana, stayed really cool and was nice the whole time to them. They sent me a whole new pack out because they didnt grow.

I grew under CFL too. Used 6500k for veg, 6500K+2700K for advanced veg and starting of flowering and 2x2700K for flowering and everything went pretty fine.
Never had any chance to experiment as I grow under HP grow lights but on the other hand never had problems.

450W of CFLs over that tiny plants seems to me like a waste of energy.

I hear ya bro, I am not using all 450 right now. The light system I built can hold up to 450 watts. Right now I only have a couple of 6500ks and 1 2700k on it right now. I will turn on more lights as they are needed.

hmm thats odd. the only problems I have heard of about the papyaya/mango strain is the germ process sucks.

everything else I have heard is that it is a great strain, grows well. very hearty and likes to stay small. I also heard that the end product is so fine ass smoke.

i dont know what your talking about to be honest.

I planted 5 and only 1 popped out of the soil after about 3 weeks of trying to get them to germ

i Had 1 that cracked and showed a tap root, but it got root rot or something and shortly died thereafter.

If the one that popped the soil actually takes off and grows I be sure to mother her and take as many clones as I can this way I dont have to waste another 3 fucking weeks trying to get these damn seeds to pop outta ground

heres an update for day 3

I transplanted my only papaya into a larger container. I noticed the tap root had already hit the bottom and was like 5 inches long going across the little container.

I didnt want to do this but to be honest I wasnt expecting it to ever grow so I just kinda threw it in a little container with like 3 inches of soil. well that was a wrong move. haha

My patchouli clone is doing so well. the leaves have an amzing purple hew to them.

I love this plant. smells so good. its totally different than those cheap oils you find in headshops.

Update for Day 4

Today soil was nice and dry so I gave papaya a nice bath of some fresh spring water. added a tiny amount of sweet grape to the water.

slow and steady goes the seedling stage.

Today the second set or true leaves (2nd node) has appeared.

So i just got my new ph tester in the mail, after waiting weeks for it to come from japan.

I tested my spring water ph = 6.8

water after nutes = 5.6

water runoff ph 5.4

I cant believe my plants are even growing. Tip for everyone do not use fish tank ph test. they suck and only read to 6.0

Day 5 Update

Hopefully tomorrow when I start a new water regiment with properly ph'ed water this little lady will start to grow a little faster.

I cant believe she is still growing considering she has been getting water phed at around 5.4 since birth.

Here are some pics of my other plants.

This is a clone that is almost a month old. It is taking LST rather well.

This little clone is finally starting to show some progress. she is the only clone to survive being taken off a huge outdoor plant on aug 18th that was well into flowering.

I think she will finally start to grow now.

here is a my first shot at a mini hempy grow. this is just for fun and to see what i can do with it. it popped outta the perlite this morning.

This little lady is doing so well. a substantial amount of new growth everyday on this. I have taken dozens of clones from the moma patchouli plant. this one is by far the best one ever. I am blown away by its growth.
