Something a looot of people don't understand.
Posturing is as American as apple pie. "We're the best, and if you don't agree, you better be prepared to fight". When the fuck did that happen...?
It's apparent people who accept that type of mindset have never read anything deeply philosophical in their lives. Those that know and appreciate the true nature of what existence means know causing any kind of pain or suffering is harmful to themselves. Those that don't are the first to fight. True cowards.
An intellectual ass whooping is monumentally more satisfying than a physical one. Not only do you annihilate your opponent, you make a point that carries beyond him, to those that are witnesses. That is how you win hearts and minds, that is how conflicts are won.

Posturing serves it's purpose in the natural world. It's a necessary evil imo. Well, in scientific opinion as well. It's one of the first steps in the wild in avoiding conflict. MOST animals prefer to part ways ammicably (sp?). Not all.
If i feel threatened or feel my family's safety is at stake i feel i have three options. 1) Run. Often, but not always, the most logical. 2) Posture. Let the threat know i WILL fight to the death. 3) Pre-emptively attack. A dead man is a threat to nobody. REACTION is a weakness in the wild most often.
So, i don't know if i should include myself in the "people who accept that mindset" or not. In the end, we're all animals of one sort or another. Much to be said about primal instinct imo.
Btw, i agree with the intellectual ass-whooping, especially in front of others or an open forum. i hope my moderation here has reflected that
