400w mh light distance

i have a 1.5 week old plant(full moon, Nirvana) under a 400w mh in a 3x3x6' grow tent. i have the light set at about 30in away from the top of the plant. temps are holding at 80 degrees, humidity is at 45%.

i did a quick search on the site and found this https://www.rollitup.org/general-marijuana-growing/372808-light-distance-seed-starting-tray.html

my question is about how far away should my light be from my plant, i just want a 2nd opinion. :weed:

The general consensus is if you put ur hand just above the plant and if it's too hot for ur hand, then it's too hot for the plant.

when they are young like that you do not want to go by the as long as its not hot on your hand method.

the light needs too be a little higher then norml until they get a little more rooted, i made the mistake b4 with a 600

No matter what the age of the plant be it from clone or seed the light distance is key to getting a good crop,Use yr hand has a gage if it is too warm for your hand it is too warm for the plant.Have a fan blowing across the top of any plant or seedling to take away the heat..............................................tyke......................
