the plants receiving more light from the mh may turn out slightly different from the plants receiving more hps light..
if thats a problem you could occasionally move the plants around

or tilt your lights so they both shine over the whole grow.. dual spectrum is good for plants but yea, rotate, tilt or something so they aren't getting too much of one kind all the time.

Ye, I was thinking of adding a couple of 125WATT Blue CFLS to my grow.

CFL - HPS (400) - CFL

Have the two CFLs on each side real close, the 400MH doesn't quite full the space and the CFLS are pretty cheap, they would only have to produce an extra 1/2 Oz to pay for themselths. Can't decide wather to get RED ones or BLue ones.

how often should i rotate my plants if i use the hps and mh, as i read on here i see how people are writing about using floresent lights or such that are either blue or red.how does that affect the plants and should i do it

if you have the money for a bunch of cfls to add in there you can always go for it. also I would rotate almost every day just to keep it really even

everyday is going to be hard considering my scheadule and where the plants are.if i just didnt rotate them would it be bad? id put 10 northern lights under 1 light and 8 diesel under the other

well at least rotate every other or every few... just keep it even so each set gets the same amount of each type of light.

Buds on the ones under the MH all the time won't get as fat, and if you're vegging in there too the ones vegging under the HPS will be long and spindly compared to short bushy ones under the MH.

the ones under the hps will probably grow slower in veg but yeild more in flower and vice versa under the mh,,veg growth will be quicker, yeild smaller,,,,,,peace

Try using the mh during vegetative stage and use both when in flowering, I doubt it is harmful, you'll need all those color spectrum's for better growth.

Mercury vapor lights are ok, you're best bet is to get the HPS with MH conversion bulbs or just and HPS/MH balast and bulbs if you can.

The problem with MV lights are that they are a little out of the right spectrum, and lean toward being too blue. If you have the money to the the HPS do it, because it will be far better than MV.

Ive been thinking the exact same thing

is it worth runnin git if the growth will be slower/less yeald.... compaired to cost to run and the trouble of moving them around all the time..
is anyone actually practicing this method... id love to see how its set up ...
