400w HPS from Home Depot?

Has anyone used them? They have 400w HPS bulbs, but I did not see that they had a ballast in stock... Those bulbs are rather inexpensive. I'm not sure what kind of light spectrum they have, but I bet they can at least be used for Veg?

I use them religiously. They work fine for veg or flower and i would suggest replacing them every 6 months opposed to 1 year...just because they are on the cheaper side and dont last as long. Remember u get what u pay for.

Nope. Home Depot does not sell the ballast only the bulbs..well atleast where I'm at. I heard lots of people say HPS lamps are great for veg all the way through flower cycle. Never have never veged with one though.

I bought one of the 400 hps from lowes...bout 20 bucks....does well but didn't have an expensive one to copare to....seems ok though....prob a few less lumins...

Where did all of you get your ballasts?

homie ballasts are a whole differnt story these are just replacement bulbs you have to have a lamp and a ballast go to a local hydro shop or look around online.

Online is cheapest but if you need it asap look at a local electrical or hardware store or hydro shops have them for sure, lowes & home depot and those places dont carry the ballast because that size is industrial size, or so they told me...

Can I use a 250w hps light bulb on one of those plug-in-the-wall adaapters?
