Hi all. Cool forums. I've just done building my grow box, and i'm waiting for my seeds to sprout. My box is about 3 ft by 3 ft by 6ft tall. So i think i can do about 4 plants?

Anyone know about this kinda stuff?

That wouldn't be funny at all, my poor girls. It's pretty sturdy double thick card board. And i have a few computer fans.

Temps right now after 20 min are 119F and it seems to be staying there, I haven't put the fans in, i just wanted to see how hot it would get in a worst case senario.

This isnt going to be very stealth so if i where you id go to the store and get some 6' 2x4's and re enforce this thing... somehow. I mean if someone sees that box they are gonna be like why do you keep it?

BUT to cool it better if the reflector has a hole in it for cooling tubes put a PC fan on it with 80-90cfm. Its not much but... hey its something to help you out.

If it doesnt have a hole cut one 3 1/2 inches wide and get a 4" PVC pipe "socket fitting" glue it around the reflector hole and get a 120MM PC fan again 80-90CFM and have it blowing OUT.

get 4" tubing and make a hole out of the box.

Should help a bit.

As for the problem you are about to encounter with having absolutely zero humidity with cardboard get some of the thickest clear or white plastic painters floor covering (also helps with the smell ;-)). its sold at Walmart. 5-9 bucks. then get some Mylar or atleast the cheap emergency blankets that walmart also sells.

All this is what i would do. hope it helps

You may want to look into a home made AC thats made from 2 liter bottles and Styrofoam.

Either way this box is going to be high maintenance.

Ok my freind this is what u do....

Take that carboard box and throw it in the garbage..... if ur going to make a box do it with wood or make a wood frama nd poly it up... that way u if u have heat probelsmt he poly would only melt....

Secondaly like someone else mentioned get an aircon and some sericous fans like squirel cage fans whatever computer crap fans are not gonna do u any good..

good luck U'll need it!!!!!!!

One step a head of ya friend, I used my left over snow board wax to seal up the card board. So to help keep humidity.

And i don't really need to be that stealth just enough.

Thanks for the fan advice, i'll do that.

The cardboard is just too flammable, man. However small the risk may be, it's just not worth it. Find a free or cheap fridge on Craigslist and use that.
