Ok, you guys convinced me. Just spent $14 on a pretty highly rated IR thermometer from Amazon. Should be here Tuesday.

Nice light man props I have the same but just 110w gonna up it to the same driver but 700mA or 1050 and add two more cobs for my heat sink 8"x18" I have a 200mm fan for it but it's not hot enough for it, it will be once I upgrade the driver tho.

That should be a good one, I like the laser feature better than the regular one I posted a link to. I may buy one of those now, thanks for posting!

Hey doz do you have a dimmer hooked up to your driver? If so what did you use? This is the only part of my build I'm stuck on!

Read through SupraSPL's threads. He addresses dimmers in one I believe.

I think for each driver, you should have a 50k ohm pot resistor?? 100k for 2 drivers like I have, but dont quote me. I am not running the dimmer as I really see no need for it. I think I need more juice as is :D

Ok, so I got the infrared gun. The hottest anywhere on the heatsink I could measure was 83* F, not bad. Ambient in the room is about 77-78 so about 5-6 over ambient. The COBS themselves are at about 102-104* F

How did you bypass the dimming function? Just connect the dim cables or leave them separated?

6 weeks! Looking pretty good so far, packing on weight! Buds are VERY dense. Having high hopes for 16-20 oz from 400w. What I am seeing so far is looking very promising.

Buds are looking great bro for only 400 watts very nice and they still got a good 2 weeks to go so they are going to be huge!

What spectrum did you get 3000k ?

I wouldnt go with 4 for veg. If you are using 4x3070 @ 50w each (what I am running), you would only need 2 for veg. I feel youd be wasting them a bit. Also, I hand drilled them. Use a drill press if you have the ability, so much easier.
