My Journal is totally open for discussion. If you would like to chat it up or give me some pointers, tell me what I am doing right and wrong, I totally appreciate it. Thanks a bunch everyone!!!

This is my second attempt in this very small closet.

This closet is a room within a room. I have a barn attached to my house. Years ago built a small room (6x10) within a large room 20x 16

Closet is 2x4 framed incased within 2"foam insulation board

Closet has two doors. one leading to my house the other leading to the barn in which this closet is housed.

Within that closet I built a 2'x2'x5' enclosure, this is where the grow will take place. Its located in the far corner of the closet. right next to the eve of my roof.

Enclosure is painted top to bottom with one coat of kilz latex primer

then 2 coats of kilz white latex matte finish

I wired the room up with its own 15amp breaker. 2 gfci outlets in a series. both outlets have exterior h20 proof housings

1 70 cfm bathroom exhaust fan mounted in the center of the ceiling of the room - exhausted out of the room via 4" ducting totaling about 3.5' ducting to reach the outside of the room.

At the end of the ductiing I installed a carbon scrubber I made out of
4" ducting
Gorilla tape
Activated Carbon
green scrubby cloth

to be continued. I am gonna work on uploading some pics asap

This ducting that you seen here has been changed. I removed it from exhausting threw the side wall and made it vent threw the ceiling right out into the barn. i did this to minimalize any bends in the vent and now you cant see it from outside either.

This little bathroom fans moves a good amount of air, but I am not sure its gonna keep the temps where I want them to be. Good thing is August is just about half over and the outside temps are gonna be dropping real soon. I havent even recieved my seeds yets so I should have about 2 weeks or more before I have to worry about the temps being over 85.

here is the main power bar. I will be running another power bar off of this one in a series. the second bar is only for the fans. I am going to keep them on seperate bars this way I can have mulitple lights going threw my timer that only has one outlet on it.

I have added a small shelf and a table, both tops are the same height. I did this to keep the plants off the floor, which will also allow for me to able to install a 4" inline fan on the bottom right side as to pull in some nice cold fresh air.

I also plan on using this unused floor space to house some DIY CO2 bottles. (to be continued on that)

So for the lights.

I have built a adjustable 3 pane light frame.

5 kleat sockets
all wired in a series ending with only 1 plug. used 18-2 wiring which should give me a range of at least 1000w at the short length the cable is. no more than 6' long

9 Y-splitters
14 cfl lights
8 2700k
4 6500k

frame is made out of 2 pieces of 1"x 8" and i piece of 1"x 5" held together using two adjustable corner brackets. easy bending.

I have setup the bulbs so I can adjust their placement as needed, kinda a pain in the ass, but its gonna be worth it.

here is a pic to show how close I have the light fixture to the bathroom fan.

I can get it closer but this is good enough for right now because I am only user a small aeroponic cloner i built(pics to come) with only 5 of the lights turned on.
4 6500ks
and 1 2700k

Here is a pic of the room in action with the cloner setup. Right now I have some spearmint clones and some patchouli clones growing. I grow the mint for my own drinks and I grow the patchouli to give to friends. its a cool plant.

I also have a Grape Spirit Clone in the cloner as well. took that yesterday from a friend, no clue on the sex yet. hopefully its a gal.

added two more 26w 2700k bulbs on a power strip mounted to the right wall with plug sockets

added a plug adapter to main outlet. this one will allow me to plug in my power bar series and also keep my aeroponic system running 24/7

better pic of the new light bar.

Mounted a hygrometer at light fixture level.

added a new digital timer. for some reason it didnt turn off at midnight like it was supposed to. I think I am gonna return it and get a new one. this is the second one of the same brand, different models. i am not happy with it at all.
