I know im new here and im not trying to sell anything to anybody; my methods, my products, my personality.

This thread is for growers running 4000w and higher of HID lighting.

Purpose of this thread is to get people together who can relate on methods, techniques, design, etc. & for questions, troubleshooting all the nuances that come with the territory.

I want to share my experiences and rub shoulders with people that are doing it on the same scale.

I find too much "crap" on the forums, and by crap i mean a gang of information that is irrelevant to me. While interesting, i dont want to know about the best way to scrog 2 plants under a 250w MH using homemade fertilizer. I want to talk about what it takes me day in and out to run 8000w's over my 112 plants, using an 8 week strain, harvesting half of it every month.

If anyone cares, post!

To be more specific, who else can relate to how hard(or expensive) it is to rent a house as a 25 yr old with no credit?
(Had to pay 1st, last AND deposit)

How'd you do your electrical?
I have a double 60 breaker in my panel that runs to a mechanical timer which is wired to an 220v 8 plug.

Anyone use PG&E's CARE program? and how do you feel about them knowing you use so much power and get it at a discount? is it stealing?

What is your understanding of nutrients?
Just follow the bottle? A friend showed you a recipe? Do you use a 1, 2 or 3 part base?
Have you mastered the chemical elements of what, how much and when and why? are you an additive whore and put 32 different bottles of stuff in your res?(hey if it works)

Ive always used GH 3 part for base.
I use a combination of B'cuzz bloom, liquid Koolbloom, Carboload & B'cuzz Tabzz during flower. I use these products in conjunction with each other, developing my understanding through experience and studying different feed charts.( to figure out the when to use what) and because its a pretty cheap cocktail. never had the budget to try the whole AdvNts line. I would love nothing more than to write out my feed schedule, of what and when and how much, and then have someone tell me whats wrong with it, i mean nothings wrong with it, it works great, but i could probably dial in a few things and gain a better understanding of how my plants eat.
Do you use bact\myco products? Am i crazy for not using them?

Is draining to waste on a large scale just too wasteful?
Not in my opinion, yield covers the overhead of nutes, i just follow my recipe, PH it and have not once checked the res or run off PPM's.
On the other hand, it would be way cool to learn about recycling the waste and how to adjust your resevoir accordingly

I hand water from a res with a pump to hose to watering wand. my plants are on poly covered plywood tables that are at a slant with gutters running to the waste res.

Does it seem like every grower you meet is singing the song "EVERYONES WRONG BUT ME" or "WHY ARENT YOU USING THIS PRODUCT"

Got some friends coming by and cant remember else i wanted to say.....

Hey,
I can relate to you about the issues of renting a house as a young man. I myself am younger than you by a few years but, even with a wife had issues finding a house suitable for my purposes. I even got charged a double deposit on top of the first/last etc. And now I have to move, all within a matter of days of finishing this run at 8 weeks(little early for this one)

My power, I installed a 50 amp DP breaker into the main breaker panel of the house, ran 6-3 wire from the breaker through the wall to the basement where the action is.. I built a 125 amp GE subpanel(15amp single poles and 1 30 amp DP) with attached 110 and 220v outlets. Then hardwired a Intermatic timer to a 30 amp double pole, and then wired my (2) 2 outlet 220v outlets(configured for the 220v ballast cords), leaving me with 4 outlets.

I have 2 identical 8X8 rooms and then a smaller veg room. I am only running three lights in one room at the moment, and i guess I will be halting the setup of the 2nd room as I am moving.

I have generally stayed with Fox farm and the 3 part GH in the past but the last 2 runs I moved over to Advanced. I dont fully understand them and I have seen some great results(like the 20% yield up they say), but still not near the numbers as they could be..... I think Voodoo Juice is one of the greatest things although I havent tried the Piranah and the other one. Bact/ myco can form some great root mass leading to you know what. I do follow the advanced nutrients directions for the most part but I generally round down a little(drain to waste directions).

I us 10 gallon smart pots and Roots organics.

I manually feed and auto water via driplines. I am ready to try something new here, Overall, I think I will be switching off advanced, but possibly still using several of their products for specific applications.

Sounds like you have some good stuff going there. I can relate...
