I was planning on buying this light here. I was just wondering if this was a good deal of if you would recommend something else. Thank you!

You are correct... fans pull better than they push so u just wanna have the fan on the exhaust side of ur light as u already stated.

Thanks for the reply. I am pretty set on getting this light. Is it a good buy or would you recommend I get something else?

That's a good deal. I don't think you'll find a cheaper cooltube kit. I got my tent from that seller and it's great.

Its a good starter kit, I have one myself but the 27" tube. I kick myself daily for not spendin the extra $30 or so to get a 600w. Just my .02..happy growing

How much better (and hotter) is the 600w than the 400w? Im only doing 4 plants and am also concerned about heat since my box is still in the planning stage and I wont know how hot it is in there until I buy the light and build the box.

Well since ur interested in the cool tubes, as long as u have a inline fan (id say 6" for ease of connecting all components, tube, ducting, fan) heat won't be an issue. As to how much better.. 600w puts off almost 2x as many lumen as the 400 (90,000/50-55,000). Penetration is the main factor if ur growing horizonally and the 600 dominates there too. Its the most efficient in the lumen to watt column too, which reflects on ur power bill. Its def. Justifiable IMO.. hope this helped

I got my 400 from this seller and I love that the cooltube is shorter (works great for my space). The only complaint I have is that I was surprised by how loud the fan is on the ballast, I did not know that the digital ballast would be so much louder than my magnetic. That said everything works great and I received everything a couple days before promised and everything works great. You can see it in my current journal in my sig below.

I did a search and people said if it was loud the light was most likely defective. Most people said it was quiet for them if they had a digital ballast. Ill let you know if mine is loud too. Its nice to see they at least have some type of warranty
