400 watt-HPS 225 watt LED apartment closet grow YOU CAN DO IT TOO!- purple kush

So hey whats up everybody...havent been around for a while but the name is mazand. ive done a few journals on here, usually simple do it yourself grow enough weed for yourself legally and then some....back with another one...i decided to make another journal to hopefully help out and cuz its fun...i know ive spent countless hours trying to look for videos/info on small personal grows and how to keep them cool, proper temp, etc.,, well now i have a pretty easy set up at my new apartment and it works great and fun and easy to maintain. so basically i have a 400 watt mh conversion / hps set up and ive converted a small 21x28" footprint by 5 ft tall home depot cabinet into a mini grow cabinet... forever i couldnt keep that tiny cabinet under a 110f with that fucking 400 but finally i gave up and traded space for temp. i bought a tower fan style mini swamp cooler, fill it up with cold water everynight and put it on swing and they love it....


heres the plants i have in here right now; bubba kush from clone (farther along) and a very sativa dom "fire og" clone....a little nute burn early on but they are better now...flowered on sept 25 probably gonna let the fire og go a couple more weeks obviously, ill pull the bubba kush in a about 3 or 4 weeks... so the one in the bathroom is the bubba kush, smells very very potent, sticky and dense...hps quality nugs





BUT....this journal isnt about those plants, its about these purple kush seeds i got from a guy...mixed male and female i sprouted 9/9 seeds and successfully babied them about 2 weeks from that as of now....my grow medium is ffof soil...ill be using flora nova veg/bloom nutes...with a dash of koolbloom powder about 3 weeks before flush....the reason i think this is gonna be a good journal to follow is that i think the majority of people who dont bust big and do a room wanna do a small low pro closet grow and anybody can ask me anything, ive tried everything and i can maybe help out a newbie along the way...

ill be taking out the 400 out of the cabinet and put in 2 LED ufo lights...one is a 135 watt HTG supply 7-band LED and the other will be a 90 watt "GROWUFO" LED i got from a buddy.... so the plan is to harvest the bubba and fire og and throw these babies in there....i dont want to turn this thread into a hps vs LED one either,lol... its just a fun experiment.....ill be the first to tell u straight up....both leds and hps will grow bud but....hps is stronger, more penetration BY FAR and grows faster and will grow bomb top shelf LED on the other hand will also grow bomb weed if you have quality LED at the right spectrum and enough watts but not nearly as much as hps, although it will be bomb and zero heat, literally HUGE for someone who straight the fuck up cant vent a 400 in a closet.......just like me,LOL so heres the LED babies about 2 weeks since breaking the soil...i plan on only keeping like 2 or 3 of the best females the rest im gonna have to trash or throw on my balcony just for fun....

ANYWAYS its the 11th which is 4 days since the last update, figured id post a couple pics so we can all see what 4 days of veg growth from a 135 watt led UFO light can do...not as much growth as a MH (for sure) but they are growing none the less...


but besides the vegging purple kush babies im a lil more excited about the bubba kush im gonna harvest in 2 weeks....she has big juicy nugs on top...i cant wait...what do u guys think???

so believe it or not im 8 out of 9 for female out of a bunch of regular seeds, good luck to me,lol.... so here they are now...the other plants are harvested and gone and here are 7 of the original purple kush plants 100% LED a 90 watt and a 135 watt in a cabinet that allmost reflects all the light back onto the plant, im very happy with the LED lights so far.... a little slower growing than HPS obviously but no sound of a fan, no heat AT ALL, so mellow, perfect for the closet grower like me... i dont care about final yield as much as finished product. the plants are small at like 12" tall each but the "tops" are growing quick, i know the LED doesnt have good penetration but the tops are getting hit hard with light what do you guys think?

Better late than never, how did you fair with the led's? Im curious cause im in the same boat...

Any yeild info?
