Yeah it can be, I didn't know the strain of my first grow I just FIMed it and list'd it a lot to keep it short and it produced huge buds it was crazy. I'm gonna start another indoor grow here soon once it starts getting colder out cuz my garage gets way to hot right now to do one. I wanna try and make some feminized seeds too any one never done that and have any luck?

If anyone has any feedback for this thread that'd be great. I too have just begun my first flowering cycle with my 400w and am curious as to what kind of set ups other people have with a 400w HID.

2x4 tent or 3x3 tent. 3 plants in 5 gallon containers was plenty to fill the space. or if you go in 6 inch containers you could do 12 plants. or 20 plants in solo cups.

the larger containers are lower maintenance. might not need to water for over a week. more important to not overfeed.

yield will depend on many factors but typically you could get around 150-250 dried grams from a 400w.

Lititle bagseed indica day 18 of flowering under 400 watt hps, she's been tied down a few times but is still standing at 20", she has had some trimming as well.
Not sure what's causing the claw though(first time grower)20140812_215239.jpg

lookin good bruh, hopefully shell smoke good too :blsmoke:
Thanks man she's already smelling my room up, I can stick my nose by the main cola and I get the fruitiest smell, smells kind of like fruity pebbles.which is weird considered the bag it came from wasn't all that great, but that could've been because it was Comercialy grown

The clawing is caused by a hot canopy or over nuting/high ph, may want to back off on the amount of nutes youre using
It's a gotten a little better since a regular, heavier watering.but honestly I think my ph is off.I always test it before every watering.always between 6.2 and 6.6, but I have charcoal ash in the soil

If you use nutes in your water, I would refrain doin that for mayve 2 feedings to give ut time to settle out. Also you may wanna take your ph meter and measure your run off water, because if your run off is that much higher from the charcoal ash you may have to lower your ph to compensate for the higher ph of the soil. Though I will say thia for sure, im not, nor have I ever, grown in soil so you may want a second opinion from another soil grower

That's actually consistent with other answers I've gotten.and my runoff was reading at 7.2 which isn't where it should be,I have to go buy some ph up/down very soon.I usually alternate my feedings with plain water and nutes, the last two waterings were with nutes instead of regular watering so the most recent was with plain water and the next watering I'll get some ph down and go with small dosage of nutes or none at all
