i noticed that when i changed from 2x125watt grow lights and a 70watt mh flood to the 400hps bulb i am getting light spotting on some lower leaves while the side branching keeps on growing. .i thought veg growth would stop when you do the 12/12 light cycle?

PLEASE HELP

I'm no expert put I had light spotting on some lower leaves which then worsened and it turned out to be ph problems.

See pic, they started out as just small shadows, then got worse on a daily basis.

well im not 100% sure..but ive got ph at 6.3 and very little feeding as i dont want to have a nute burn. all the growth was fine until i got the hps fixed and im thinking its a sort of reaction for high intensitiy light ...i saw once on this forum that if youve got an indoor plant and want to take it outside ..wait for a bit of a cloudy day so that the sun wont harm the plant.

maybe its the same problem... but its the second time in 3 days that ive fed it with ro water ph'd at 6.3 maybe it'll stop but u cant be really sure is it?

I had pretty much the same problem, they were fine under low wattage lights, but when I switched to a 400w hps, the problem occured.

Stupid question, but surly the top leaves would be effected as opposed to the lower leaves with the stronger light though?

I have not really solved the problem, even though my ph was high & it has now been lowered, the effected leaves are the same, but it does not seem to have spread.

Have a look at my previous posts if you like, I have not used many nuets either, but still had issues with the spots.

I am completely new to this, so you should probably take no notice of what I say.

im not sure between yellow and brown spots and which one of them is curable or not (my guess would be yellow yes and brown no) but the advanced nutrients REVIVE foilar curing solution is supposed to make the "yellow plant disease " stop and directly put nutes into the leaves to get the green colour back

Pasted from a website.."Advanced Nutrients Revive sends super-chelated iron, zinc, calcium, nitrogen and other crucial nutrients to rush in and save your plants. All you have to do is add a little to your hydroponics nutrient solution or foliar spray."

coming to what happens(or at least what i think happens ) is because the ph is not in the 6.0-70 area and the plant is not getting any food from the roots so it starts to take the juice off the leaves. it starts from the lower part because they are closer to the roots and im not sure but maybe they are effected first due to them being sucked out of green from both the roots and the light. It will be worse with a hps light because under that light the plant grows faster than under cfls .

there is also an advanced nutrients b52 aswell which i bought but still didnt get due to the Discount Advanced Nutrients .::. The best source for Advanced Nutrients people not giving a shit about international buyers . its a no go for the europe people who didnt want to buy the AN nutes from holland...find another website.
hope it helps a bit
