400 + 600 hps lights or 1000 light, which?

Hey I am just trying to get a little advice for what light(s) will be better for my new setup.

I currently run a 400w light and am looking to go bigger. There is a shop here locally that will give you credit for used equipment at a pretty fair price. I actually traded in my original 250w setup and got $100 for it which I used towards my 400w.

Anyways, I'm undecided on if it would be better for me to just purchase a 600w setup and run both lights, or trade in my 400w to upgrade to a 1000w light.

What do you guys think?

depends on the room if its a rectangle like 4' x 8' then go with the 2 lights if its square like 6' x 6' then I would probably go with the 1000 watt

your 400 is the most efficiant just get another and run them both less heat with just fine results 1000 watt systems are almost too much unless your in a pretty big area plus they are not very efficiant

couldent you fit a general amount of 6 plants for a 400 watt and 8 or 9 for a 600 watt and only 12 under 1000 watt i guess it would also depend how meny you want to grow

I am going to grow the legal limit of 12 plants, flowering.
I also have a 400wmh which is going to be for our veg area.

So for flowering 12 plants, sounds like just add a 400 or 600w light?
We were planning on doing a perpetual harvest, maybe like 3 plants every 2ish weeks or so, which would give us around 8/9weeks flowering with the whole 12 plants. If i got another 600 I could move the plants from veg under the 400 and later in flowering under the 600, would that be good?

Thanks for the responses lovers!

with a sog you dont need even lighting cause you wont have an even canopy so 2 lights should be fine

I believe a 600w is the most efficient. There is a little drop in effiency in the 1000's and the 400 is really bad..

i liked my 400 but i ran dual. now i have a 600 on a mover with much better results. I have a 2.5 X 5 area. Highly recommend the 600.

I can fit 30 one gallon bags. The last harvest was 17 girls. Just a few G's over an LB.:bigjoint::eyesmoke:

Wish I had a bigger room though. When I pack them In there I have to take them all out to water.

I'm running two 400's in a 2.5 x 5 ft area. One is a ceramic metal halide and one is an hps. I want a 600 hps to run with the 400 cmh though, think I would get much better results.
