4 qb in 8x16

Would 4 of the hlg 550 v2 quantum boards in a 8 x 16 flowering tent be to much or just right? I'm looking to grab an 8 x 8 tent with 2 hlg 550 v2 for veg.

I think not enough. I hate this metric, but that's only 17.2W/ft^2.

Well idk what the math was for led I know its 1000 watts per 4x4 right? That's what I was basing that off of I hope I'm it's enough those pricey as a mug!

Usually I see 25-45 W/ft^2 promoted for current tech LED, so that's 400-720W per 4x4 area. So many variables here that influence that, efficiency, hang height, penetration requirements and on and on. Better to shoot for decent PAR measurements than to use that metric.

each of those is suppose to cover a 5x5 for flowering. So yes.

imo 4 550s would cover 8x8-9x9 fine.. so you would almost need to double it for 8x16

even if a full 5x5 you're looking at covering 10x10 with 4.. and that would be stretching it imo

Oh I totally forgot to mention I'm going to add light rails to the the tents they say they add 30% more coverage or so so that should put me close to as if having the extra lights right

At a $1,000 per 550 that would be a chunk of change to throw down.

Could go with the hlg600 from growers lights at 620w for $700 , cover a 5x5 with each and use 6 of them over a 10x15 space.
That would cost slightly more than 4x hlg550 (ot taking into account the october discount on the 550)

I'm waiting till next month I think they were 20% off for black Friday last year. I've been saving for a long time and its finally time I'm trying to go all out buy everything I can to grow the best I can

i have 16 304 boards in my 10x10 and considering adding 4 more to get better spread down my rows

Why not the larger lights and smaller for more spread? That was the idea I was thinking I'm going to do.
