4 plants, 4 oz, possible for me?

Recently I've been working on upgrading everything in my setup
(Inluding Tent, Lights, Fans, Pots, You know... Everything)

Well ive finally completed the list as this after all the research i did:

Lighthouse hydro grow tent (32x32x63)

400w HPS with dimmable ballast (50% / 75% / 100% -- This comes with a batwing reflector)

Two 4" booster fans (should be enough since i run air conditioning during the summer and a heater during winter)

Two 4" bug screens + active carbon inserts (do the same as the carbon filters but their made for booster fans)

Four 2-gallon pots (this is the amount of ladies i will have under the 400w HPS)

6" clip on fan (to blow across the canopy, in the direction of the desk fan mentioned below)

6" desk fan (this will sit in a corner of the tent blowing up towards the exhaust)

IS THIS ENOUGH TO ACHIEVE MY GOALS, of 4 plants, 4 OZ???

1 oz per plant? yes very possible, 4 oz per plant also possible given the right conditions.

3x3 will be tight for 4 plants, but healthy plants should surpass your goal.

You should easly get 4 onces but that will depend on what strain you plan on growing also. Good Luck.

ive been leaning towards northern light seeds

Use 5 g pots..and yes. I run 2 3x3 tents.

Also depends on the strain you grow, the planters, soil, and nutrients used... IMO- if going with 5-gallon planters, use the fabric pots... then getting root-bound isn't an issue..
You could also learn to LST to keep the plants short, wide and trimmed-out underneath to become just a canopy- getting a much larger yield...and use only 3 plants instead of 4.

Remember- clones yield more/faster than seedplants--- so keeping a clone as a Mom for next time may be a good option for you.

Make sure you are vegging long enough, caring for them properly etc... No reason you shouldn't get 3+ oz per plant!

Northern lights can grow to be between 3.5' to 5' so I would have a tendency to say don't veg more than a couple of weeks or you might have hight issues. It's a good plant that finishes in around 7 weeks but needs a little room so I would do 3 instead of 4 plants, and you will definitly get more than a oz. Good luck brother. Peace.

i would, but i already have the four 2 gallon pots, plus i dont have enough soil to fill the 5 gallon lol

however i will be using roots soil... ive had great success with it, never once had to add anything to it

Veg them in the 2 gallon then switch. Just get a couple five gallon buckets and pop holes in the bottom. The $2 investment will pay off. This will give you a month or so to come up with extra soil also. It would suck getting root bound in the middle of flowering or the plant not reaching it full potencial.

Like Coho said go with 5 gallon pots, the 3x3 tent will be tight for 4 plants as well. You could do a scrog grow on them and definitely reach your 4 oz goal...and you could do it with fewer plants. Not trying to be picky but that Batwing reflector isnt the best; not saying it wont get the job done but there are better out there. You could even take the cheaper route and make one yourself.

Yeah, I'm using 2 gal pots with my autos and they seem to not like the small space. Next time I'll go with a 4-5gal pot, I would still use a fabric one like smartpots because they drain extremely well, they are easy to tell when they are dry, and they keep the plants from being root bound. You could try DWC/Bubbleponics method. I'll show the difference in growth.

All these are the same exact strain. Started at the same time under the same dome etc, even using the same nutes. Hydroponics definitely leads to much faster growth!

2 gallons is not big enough to flower-out even a small-ish plant- they are for start of veg... they will get rootbound and die- especially Northern lights-- they are big plants even if put in 12/12 early- it will keep vegging until sexually mature enough to bud- maybe 3 extra weeks to start the flowering cycle..

Again- JMO... but Learn to tie them to keep them short-- get bigger planters and another bag of soil, and re-plant a week before 12/12... or you will be likely to run into issues later.

actually the 2 gallon pots are what i was going to transplant into for flowering... i have 10 plants in 0.75 gallon pots atm, just waiting to sex them before they go into
the 2 gallon pots

im really on a tight budget here so a lot of spending just isnt possible

well then- IMO- chalk this up to a learning experience-- and no- don't expect to get a lot off them- they are going to get rootbound and not do as well as they could...

You've been told my numerous folks now that 2-gallons is NOT big enough- and you didn't originally say 10 plants.....???

What are you using for nutes in veg and flower???

I was definitely going to add you need 5gal buckets! You'll run out of root space fast in 2.
