3x400w or 2x600w?

Ok i'm doing a new grow, i have a choice between 2x600w sodium lights for flower or 3x400w. Which of these provides more lumens?

You need to look up the brand of lamp/bulb your talking about using. Find out how many lumens each bulbs puts out.. go from there.

get a 1000w if u have a 4x4 growing area

how big is the room? and guru is right, this is a trick question. 2x600's are better than a 1000 (lumen wise) by only putting out 200 more watts. Again it depends on the bulb. Also plants don't use lumens like we do. What you want to look for is the correct PAR wavelength in the bulbs.

IMO if the room is wide but not that tall use the 3x400w. but if its tall and skinny use the 2x600w. They can penetrate deeper than the 400w.

No 2 600...600 w 80-90,000 lumans...400w 50000 lumans....winner 2 600w..

2 600's will use a little less electricity, as there will only be 2 ballasts. 2 600 lights should easily cover your 4x4 and give some great results.
I use 400's but would use 600's if they were available at time I picked up my 4's.

If its only 4x4 theres pretty much no way ur gonna keep 2 600w or 3 400w cool enough.....for 4x4 u only need a 600w
