i put built my table & 3'x3' tub & installed them in my 3'x4' growroom my reservoir will be under my table im using 6'' rockwool cubes how many gallons of nutes should i use to flood this table i was thinking about 12-15 the rockwool absorbs the nutes pretty good i would like to hear from someone using similar set up i want to install res. monday & set up pump & overflow gona let it drain back through submersable pump in res. so when i shut pump down gravity returns nutes to res. overflow is 3/4'' pump is 130 gph. 1/4'' fitted with 1/2'' hose i dont think the pump is capable of more volume than the 3/4'' overflow can handle i'
ve fabricated most,of my stuff so i have to ask & look at all the posts that i can ebb& flow dont have a step by step diy. thread like roseman did for the bubbleponic [i did bubbleponic my last grow] now its all about upgrading my growroom is ''a work in progress'' it keeps getting better as i learn more i' growing 3 strains mango, sour diesel & i've added purple wreck

I use a 2x4 table and a 15 gal rez. I would expect you to need slightly more, but 15 gal bought me about 4-5 days away before the pump ran too low.

heys-g15 thanks for your input i think our volumes are close enough gonna use 18 gal tote 4 res. sounds like youre maybe growing in hydroton ??? the rockwool absorb & hold liquid a long time using g-h. keep it simple drain to waste feeding schedule as the 6''x6'' blocks stay wet for about 7 days [maybe a little less as plants get bigger ] gonna mix&ph. nutes the day before i feed & let airstones & circulating pump aeriate my nutes before i flood my blocks & cant make up my mind about putting a mat under my blocks i still have time before roots grow through my blocks this is all new to me my tray is 1sq.ft. larger than yours which isnt very much gonna run with 9 plants

i'll be picking up up 4 more 6'' rockwool blocks tomorrow making last minute change substituting 2 more b.c. mango clones for 2 sour diesel giving me 7 mangos & 2 purple wreck second grow for mango its a good yielder & has a strong high sour diesel has not been the greatest yielder for me & is common in the local clubs & in my opinion dont get you as high as the mango the 2 purplewreck clones i bought at a club ,the mangos i cloned off my last grow as did the sour diesel looking for yet another strain for next grow i have feminized super lemon haze seeds [greenhouse] i want to try also thinking about coconut croutons or hydroton for nrxt grow

Yeah I had a bunch of ph problems and watering problems with the large cubes. It's not so bad now that they are in pots of hydroton, but before it was rough. I started my new plants in a mix of 50% hydroton, 50% rockwool mini cubes (size of salad crutons) and I'm loving it so far. Much more even throughout the medium and much better air/water retention properties.

If you just want to use plain blocks without pots or other medium, I would recommend getting a coco mat. About 20 bucks, but it will allow the roots to grown down into the tray as well as help wick some of the water out of the cubes so they stay less soaked.

Good luck :leaf:
