3x QB288 with hlg240hz-c2100a

Can you run 3 of these boards together off 1 driver? I am trying to prevent heat from increasing drastically in my small 2x4 tent and hesitant to add another driver. Even if I lost intensity, could I safely run 3 boards off 1 2100a driver?

Thanks for any advice

If you want to keep the heat down inside the tent, I would just make the driver stay outside the tent and use a length of wire to go inside and power the boards. A QB288 V2 at 2100 mA will be 48.96 volts with a total of 102.82 Watts. Three would need 308.46 watts. That driver can only produce a max of 249.9 watts. V1 of the QB288 would need even more. For three off a single driver, you would need a HLG-320H-C2100A/B.

Thanks for the quick reply! I will move the driver outside the tent now.

Would it still be possible to run each board with only 83.3 watts if I were to use the 240h 2100a that I have? Or must they have 102.82per / 308.45 total watts to run?

You would have to be running them at 39.66 volts, which I don't think they will run at. It looks from specs like they run at 48.96 volts operating at a current of 2100 mA. You can try it, but they will likely not power up. Looking at the Samsung specs for the LM301B, which the V2 boards are built on, they require a voltage of 2.7-2.8 volts for the AZ bin. So I think they would likely need at least 43.2 volts.

This is just assumption. You could always join the Grand Master Level show on Friday and ask Stephen from Horticulture Lighting Group directly.
