3rd grow, passive hydro (hempy bucket) yellowing issues

Hello all,

I've done a few soil grows before I switched to hempy, my soil grows always turned out pretty good, nothing spectacular, but provided me with enough to be happy. Now that I've switched to hempy it seems I've got nothing but problems, all the time.

I pH my water, I've tried RO and I am now using rainwater (my tap water reads at about 8.2 and takes way too much ph down to get it where it needs to be)

I pH to 5.2-5.4 consistantly, and I have been seeing the following problems in all of my buckets (some are worse then others, but all are bad)

I use the advanced nutrients Jungle Juice product (3part) and follow directions on the package for the veg, during bloom I use the lucas formula (no grow, just bloom/micro)

Seedlings/youngin's - purpleish red stems and veins on dark green leaves, growth is terrible on some, others that have less of the red/purpling are lime greenish leaves and are taller, bushier

Mature plants in 12/12 yellowing all over, turning from lime green to light green, to yellow and then to white, crumble up and die usually before turning completely white, ends up effecting the entire plant, bud production is severly stunted.

I will take pictures to illustrate what I am explaining.

Youth lights - 100w veg growth LED light (temps @ 74F)

Flowering light - 400w HPS (Temps @ 76F)

I would raise the ph to 6.0 so the nutes would b more available, im not an expert by no means but the grow bible says 5.5 to 6.5 for best nute uptake. If u get a chance search for Xare's sog hempy, he has awesome results w gh nutes, lucas formula.

Yes ph 6.0.400 watts and under should use Lucas 5/10 micro/bloom and since you are using rainwater I would try 1/8th a tsp of epsom salts per gal in nute solution on test plants.ph and over fert is my guess and get some 6500k cfl's (23w or more) to suppliment that led in veg.

Thank you three for the quick response! Dalek thank you for the link page. I originally had my ph at around 5.8-6.0 and was scolded heavily on another forum for having it up that high stating I was locking things out. The plants looked much better back then and I think I may have been too hasty to take that advice. As with anything in life, nothing comes fast or easy, patience always pays off.

I'm going to adjust the pH solution to 5.8-6.0 again and drop the nutrient solution down to the 5/10 level for bloom. I don't have the power capacity to run the CFLS, but I will take your advice as something to implement when we move to our new house in a year.

I will keep the VEG cycle pics updated to show progression of the ph level/nute level change, for anyone that might have this issue in the future.

Again, thank you all.
