3rd grow - I've got high expectations (pun intended)

My first 2 grows got pretty messed up by a combination of my inexperience and outside forces that were brought into my garden. Basically, I had a bad start with my good clones then had a good start with my bad clones. End result was lack luster and even a little bit discouraging. But I decided to chalk it up as a learning experience and move on.

So I redesigned the grow rooms and added some new toys and gadgets. I decided to sell my nutrients and switch over to 100% organic. The only thing that is not natural in my grow room is the artificial lighting. I also decided that I would grow from seed rather than get clones from outside sources (that's a lesson I learned the hard way and do not recommend - ask me if you want to know details about that). I got all feminized seeds from Attitude Seed Bank. On July 18th, I planted all 52 seeds and mixed up a batch of Subcool's Super Soil Mix.

And here is where I am at right now, three and a half weeks after planting the seeds:

You are looking at 40 plants that made it out of the 52 seeds. Not too bad of a turn out so far. Now we just gotta wait and see if any of them turn out to be males. Although, some of the packaging that the seeds came in actually claimed to be 100% female, so we'll see.

These pictures were taken about a 3 or 4 days ago but that video posted above was taken about 45 minutes ago.

There is a pretty good mixture of Sativas, Indicas and Hybrids.

I'll keep this thread updated weekly with new pics/vids.

In the Veg room I have a 600 watt MH light on a light mover system that is hanging over the main veg area. I also have 2 metal shelves that I have fluorescent lights hooked up to that I do early vegging on. The temp stays at about 78 degrees and the humidity stays above 60%.

In each of the 2 flowering rooms I have a 1000 watt HPS lights on light movers and each room is equipped with 2 90 watt LED UFO Gen 2 lights for supplemental lighting.

Oh yeah, 1 thing I forgot to mention.......feel free to leave comments, tips or advice.

How much did all those seeds cost? Looking awesome, I wish you the best of luck with your 3rd grow! I bet you learned a lot from the first 2, so hopefully third time is the charm!

Here is a tip for ya! Don't grow so many strains a ounce! You have too many different strains.... These plants are all cannabis, but they sure as hell grow differently.... have different nutritional needs and different environmental needs. Why make it so damn hard on yourself. Pick one or two similar plants and grow them. I am not a pro.... but I can grow some herb and I would never try to grow that many strains at once.... but I'm a dumb-ass... and that's just me! The good thing about having this many strains though is I can figure out which ones will grow the best in my conditions. I'm hoping that at least 1 plant of each strain will adapt to my grow rooms so that I can just clone from those plants. I am still pretty early into this grow but it seems like a lot of them are doing pretty good. There's about 15-20 that are doing great. Only about 4-6 of them are lagging behind a little bit, but in one of my last grows I saw the same type of thing happen and the slower ones had a growth spurt and caught up with the faster ones.

All-in-all, I'm not expecting to have all 40 of them turn out great, just hoping for 1 from each strain to turn out great

Looking great. I personally would rather go organic than hydro too. I will be nice to compare notes on our TD ladies but it sounds like you have a pretty solid strain selection there.

Sorry bout never getting around to getting new pictures posted. I did, however, make a longer video this week that has some pretty good close-ups. I just remembered about the pistils shooting out of the Afghan Kush Ryders. But as it is, I am still guessing that all of these ladies (well, all of the "showroom" ladies) will be ready to enter flowering next Monday!!!!

Yeah, I'm keeping an eye on your grow as well and a few others that are growing some of the other strains I've got. I'm still quite new to this and am soaking information in like crazy.

Thank you. I'm actually counting on that. The flowering times mainly range from 50-80 days. So what I am doing is growing half my legal limit per crop. I do 2 simultaneous crops (in flowering) and off-set them by 1 month. So I am doing "crop 1" right now and when these go into flowering, I'll take the lower branches that I lollipopped off and clone them. Now, when "crop 2" goes into flowering, "crop 1" will have some of the early flowering strains harvesting and a few more each week. I will just keep this schedule ongoing and just offsetting each crop by about 1 month. It should make for about 5 plants a week being harvested once I have everything uniform.

Just a few days before flowering. I topped all of the plants. Some got normal topping and some got FIM topping. All plants also got some supercropping done to them. As of last night at around 8 or 9 pm I added music (Bob Marley and Sublime) during the lights on time and ambient jungle sounds for lights out period. They have really grown a lot since the introduction of sounds last night, like noticeably a lot. I'm getting really excited now. Hopefully it will be a more female than male ratio.

It seems as though they like the ambient rainforest jungle noises opposed to music. The bird chirping can get to be a little bit annoying but it's a sacrifice worth making for my girls

There are about 6-10 plants that are about 15" tall now. Monday or Tuesday I will do partial lollipopping on all of them and take clones from the lollipopped limbs. Then this crop is going into flowering on Wednesday!!!!!!

Your also an organic grower like me and seeing that many girls in pots instead of in a hydro system makes me happy haha, not many people would do that. I'm pullin up a chair man you got me subbed! My girls love music, I play it for them almost every day and they seem to respond well. Really chill ambient sound music is what they like most haha, whenever I play it their leafs perk up a little more after about 15 minutes, it's really cool to see.

If you don't mind me asking, are you growing this just for your personal use? Or perhaps you are a caregiver?

My first grow was sixty five and it was an insane amount of work..forty is also..i spent five or six hours every night..im full of shit it was more like.three hours. every night in a jungle..and the smell..fuck you could smell it twenty feet from my front door...and when id leave to go hit a store or whatever people would make comments about the smell....once in a movie rental place i was looking at the movies on the wall when this guy walks up behind me and goes daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaam all quiet. my boy over here smells goooooooooood an i know you gut that killa with that leaf stuck on yo back..yo yo yo can you help a brutha out? Lol that's when i started changing clothes during harvest..for three weeks during the chopping trimming and drying. ..Two weeks really..anyway its smelly is my point......wait im stoned my.real point is i can't wait to watch this..good growing..
