I don't know...to me a plant is life and to kill it for being a runt or a bit geneticly imperfect just seems wrong to me. It obviously wants too live. Why should it not be allowed the cahnce if the grower is willing to do it?

ahhh mann! nobody mentioned perlite! that would have helped prevent the soil from becoming waterlogged.
I couldnt see the pictures, hopefully there is some perlite in that soil. Not the end of the world if it doesnt but, don't be too eager to water or youll down it.
Your one gallon container should work just fine so long as it has holes in the bottom

Where did you get the original soil from? was it just backyard dirt? Why on earth did it have a pH of 8? What's the pH of your water?
It's always a good idea to leave your tapwater out overnight btw, though I doubt that was in anyway related to the problem

Hows the pH of your new soil? Don't worry about giving it nutients for some time yet, if you had given it 1/4 strength like you were thinking youd have only made things worse.

Your still going to have a runt, but it sounds like now you might at least get a joint or two

Oh yea the "hairs" your seeing are nothing, they grow out at every node, whether male or female, I don't really know what they do, but just ignore them. when you see pistils or balls itll look different you'll know when the preflowers show up what they are. You'll have to wait about a week after the preflowers show before they can be identified as male or female

Hopefully you get another seed soon enough

Did you put her back in the same medium? Are you going to do something different? Are you going to take the time to RESEARCH and find out how to fix her instead of just posting questions? Because it is apparent you are not gonna get much constructive advice here.

If you answered corrctly to those questions...then yes she has a good chance of survival.

He has been given some very helpfull constructive advice here already. Naturally it's going to be everyone's first reaction to say WHOA DUDE START OVER! but seeing as he can't do that we've steered him in the right direction to make the most of that plant.

You have to understand that the plant is stunted and will never become a full-sized marijuana plant. If you fix everything that is wrong with the growing environment and give it time and effort you will be able to grow probably a few grams.
But yes you will need to do some research, and some money will need to be spent on equipment to provide for the plant

Marijuana is probably the easiest plant to grow, and I say that for one reason: There are endless amounts of information on this particular plant and how to grow it available on the internet and in dozens if not hundreds of books. Because of this anyone with the time to read and learn about how to grow marijuana should be capable of doing so.

I did transfer it into a different medium. It is roughly a 1 gallon container but I think may be a little smaller, which is perfect. I have been doing some research now since the beginning of this month, considering then is when my problem was starting. Up until now little has changed and I am really out of ideas. Transplanting it was really good advice. It has grown as much as it did before in a week. The roots seemed to have been suffocating and you were right, the excess roots were nothing. Totally a waste of growing and got rid of all that shit and except for a couple inches below where the the main root ball was. sorry im explaining really shitty. Just got home and now im blitzed. Hopefully updating in a couple of days with great news.

I guess I meant optimistic (about something doomed to fail) but shit that was my only baby seed I had left and I'm on the constant lookout for seeds. This weed we've been getting has been so crazy. Thank you Cali, bringin it in to Atlanta!! But I really can't wait to start out fresh!!!In the mean time lets see what this little buggers gonna be up to

Well she really looks bad now. It has been 2 or 3 days since I transplanted and despite growing an inch taller, the leaves are turning yellow and kind of a burned color on the edges. All except for the new small leaves coming in. I am so close to trashing it. I crushed a couple of these tiny leaves that fell off into my hand and they smelled amazing. Still no luck on seeds, what a shame I finally have a chance to grow and its bullshit. Through no fault of my own either, I'm kind of remembering that the seed wasn't the healthiest looking. But for fucks sakes I figured after it sprouted 3 days later she was growing, but I guess not, it wasn't meant to be grown past 3 inches.

Lol i know man i was just so pissed and I didnt know what else to do..but to come back on here. anyway yea thats the problem, the weeds too good and no way im finding a seed in these batches. But that is where i have found all my seeds i had. From super dank Chemdog, purp, and a bubble kush seed...all of them were crazy dank and great looking seeds. anyway man thanks a lot. this was kinda my first thread grow, it was coool.

Looks and sounds like a nute-lockout and consequential stunting to me... I'm with Da Almighty Jew... Get sum new, airy, LOW-no nute medium, and transplant them carefully... But be on the lookout for hermies later in their hopefully longer life, i.e. when you begin flowerring, which from the looks of those poor things, it may be 2-3 months befor they can recover, and begin rapid vegatation, and get to where they shouldve already been... And remember, don't overwater, and don't apply any nutes, until the seedlings begin to yellow, and especially when you begin to introduce your nutes, do it in very small doses... and gradually beef up the feeding regimin, as your plants will tell you...Patience is a virtue... They will do what they need to do, largely without our help, and oftentimes our "help" is actually hurt... I made the same mis steps and maljudgments as a rookie grower... I dont know any grower who didn't and who never had a situation, especially as a beginner... Hell, after 13 years and God-only knows how many grows later, I still mess up from time to time in various aspects of cultivation... It happenz to the best out there... Itz inevitable, but thanks to the stoner community, we can recover and grow on 99% of the time...
