35 Gallon Aero Tote

Just wondering if anyone has made their own aero tote for veg and flower. I know they are commonly used for cloning. This is what Im working with..

35 Gallon Tote
400 GPH Water Pump
Air pump and stones
1/2'' PVC piping
20: 180 degree misters
3.75'' Net Pots
Advanced Nut. Sensi Grow A&B

Would aero be the better decision? I will be spending lots of time on these girls so maintenance is not a worry of mine. However I believe by using the aero set up with air stones and lower reservoir levels I'll be able to "conserve" my nutrient solutions.

Any tips, suggestions, or input? :bigjoint:

Thanks Corbat thats pretty much what Im going for. What do you veg/flow with? I plan on doing both in my aero tote.

Another question is would it be better if I had a separate reservoir? With my 400gph pump pushing the water up to the main tote via 1/2"pvc pipe (one of the 4 legs to the misters "H" shape design w/ legs), and an additional drain pipe using gravity to drain back into the reservoir? This would make it easier changing water/draining, checking ph, etc. and keep the main reservoir with the roots empty with only mist.. So i guess my real question is would my idea be better to veg/flower with than the misters in its own reservoir with air stones? lol Thanks!

if you have experience with piping, pumps, external reservoirs and everything that goes along with that, then yes it will make life mush easier.

if you dont have experiance with all of that you can put a tap on the bottom of the reservour. this will allow you to take alittle water out to test and make it easier to change.

if there is the right mix of O2/H2O then they can run 24/7. it creates the best environment for them.

you can put H2O2 (Hydrogen peroxide) into the res to increase the O2 content... but it will kill any beneficial microbes and enzymes you are using.

What Does Hydrogen Peroxide do?
H2O2 is an unstable molecule, when it breaks down a single oxygen atom and a molecule of water is released. This oxygen atom is extremely reactive and will attach itself to either another O- atom forming a stable Oxygen molecule or attack a nearby organic molecule. Both the stable and O- forms will increase the level of dissolved oxygen.

Three percent Hydrogen Peroxide may be added at up to three ml's per liter (2 1\2 tsp. Per gallon),

So if I want to use voodoo juice I cant use the H2O2. I believe its used for two weeks V and two weeks F. Would I be able to use peroxide in the weeks off? And would I notice a difference if I didn't use peroxide at all?

Yes, and it will help clean your res in between benificials

some people sware by H202, but i figure as long as you are supplying proper 02 to the roots you dont need it.

I have one large 12 inch airstone and one six inch airstone with a 600 Gal/hr Capacity DuraPump. Would that be sufficient?
:D as long as the 12" is on a good pump (like 350+L air / Hour or something) then it should be more than enough. the more air in the solution, the more water and nutrients that can be absorbed by the plants, this means the plants can grow larger, faster...

Ahh wonderful because I have 2 pumps and they are both 600 gal/hr (or 2,280 L/hr) Im only going to use one though lol.

I have 3 Skywalker OG, 1 Chocolope, and 1 Blue Lemon, 1 Critical Mass 33 (both freebies).

They are almost done with germ. As it is, I have a Jiffy rapid rooter 36 site kit, I plan on sprouting them in and once they show some roots Ill insert them into rockwool cubes with a hole for the rapid rooters and then net pots. I also have cotton wool which worked surprisingly well on a test run with a bag seed in a solo cup (before I got my net cups :P) dwc set up. lol
Im not sure if rapid rooters are common with dwc/aero from seed. Should i just cut small cubes out of my 3inch hydroton cubes or stick with the rapid rooters? The rock wool is too big for the net cups so i cut them down in size so they can be fully covered by hydroton and they are cubes with a hole in the center for inserts

rapid rooters work well for Aero as long as they arn't being sprayed directly. so sticking them in the rockwool cubes would be the best option.

Awesome. Any nutrient/additive suggestions?

I have Sensi Grow A and B, a little bit of DynaGrow, Dyna Bloom, and Root Zone.

I was thinking about getting Voodoo Juice, Big Bud, Cal Mag, Overdrive. Any thoughts on AN?

never stick to one nutrient regime... that has to be the best advice out there :D

Find a basic plan, and then use addatives on top of that. adjust the PPM of the basic program + additives to suit your individual plants.

and Personaly, i prefer organics.... Synthetics cause the bud to lose taste, and be much harsher...

AN also has a decent organic line, but its expensive as all hell....
