Yeah, I would be alarmed and watch that closely. If it's rot it's soft and squishy. I'd make sure it isn't fungus too. I've seen rot overwatering but grow only in coco

I sprayed it off with the sprayer from the kitchen sink, it came right off and the root was white where the slime previously was. I will continue to monitor it the next few days and do another res cleaning and maybe add h2o2 if it gets worse.

Day 19
7-2-2017 : 5:30pm

6.4 Gallons
air temp: 75f
water temp: 68f
ppm: 520
ph: 5.78

Notes:
- The ppm dropped last night so I added another gallon of water with 1/4 strength nutrients. The plants seem to be drinking up the nutrients now and I am seeing a little yellowing on the first set of leaves, the spear ones. I am going to start raising the ppm up slowly now. Right now its 210 from the tap water and about 310 worth of nutrients. Going to raise it up to around 600 today.
- Getting a lot of new growth in the foliage and the roots are really starting to take off. Hoping to start LST sometime towards the end of this week maybe.
- The roots are looking good, no new slime or smells in the res. Lots of new root growth as well

Day 20
7-3-2017 : 8:30pm

5.8 Gallons
air temp: 77f
water temp: 68f
ppm: 627
ph: 5.87

Notes:
- ppm dropped from 520 yesterday to 461. I added in another 1/4 strength dosage of nutrients at 1 gallon without the water. Brought ppm up to 627. Will continue to raise ppm until I see it level off between days
- roots still looking good, no slime or smell. Seeing a lot of new root growth and root branching
- I should be able to do my first topping within the next 2 days.

Day 21 (mini update)
7-4-2017 : 9:00am

Going out tonight so I am probably just going to do a mini update now.

Notes:
- topped both plants this morning, woke up and the 5th node growth was between the 1/4" - 1/2" mark as stated in LBH tutorial. Went ahead and cut the tops off with my pruning scissors sterilized with h2o2 diluted solution.
- I guess just a waiting game from here to let them recover and grow their new cola's.

7-5-2017 : 6:30pm

5.5 Gallons

Notes:
- Plants are still eating like crazy, ppm was back down to 507 from the other day. I went ahead and applied 1/3 strength nutrients at 1 gallon straight to the res. This brought me up to 735 total ppm
- They are handling the topping very well, new growth has already started from the topped node.

Well stupid pothead will do stupid shit....

Woke up this morning realizing my lights were not on. Pretty sure I turned them off at 7:00 to snap some pics and didnt turn em back on. My normal light schedule is 5pm to 11am, so that means they were on for about 2 hours and then off for the next 12hrs when should have been on. I turned them back on and am going to skip today's dark cycle. I am not too worried from what I researched shouldn't be a big deal.

Chalk this one up as another lesson learned, be diligent on maintaining my environment....

I'll go back over your thread but (just my thoughts) you might want to lower the ppm to 600'ish here are mine @ 530 ppm but overall you're doing much better than my first dwc grow IMG_2074.JPGIMG_2075.JPG

Thanks for the input, I have been ramping the nutrients up gradually every day. They are pretty close to 600ish, my tap water is 210 to 220 ppm. I checked the nutrients this morning and they have already dropped from 910 to 780. So thats around 570ish from the nutrients.
