I've cut off the bottoms of soda bottles to use as humidity domes for clones before. It can take some time for them to root, but I've never had a cutting die on me.

I would say to save the nutes till it gets some roots going. It's good to think of clones like new seedlings, its best not to fuss with them too much until they get established.

Switched to Flowering yesterday morning. I did not Pre-sex this Grow so everything is kinda up in the air atm. Did a little Trimming, More training. Next Grow I will let the plants grow a bit taller before the LST starts, I trained to close to the dirt and it makes it hard to water. Tonight when the lights go back on, I shall post a new Vid Update.

Ps The Clippings seem to still be alive, No wilting at least :) Used 1ltr Bottle as a greenhouse, Cut it in half, Use top half of bottle as dome. :leaf:

great video update. I like your grow space. Never seen multiple plants being grow out in the same pot. Interesting to see how that works out. Hopefully well.

Yeah, Im Kinda thinkin It may have been a mistake, I did not take into consideration that the roots systems may start competing for space. Next time Around I plan on using pots or bags. THanks for stoppin by to check the grow out !

Just got back from OSH, THey had just got in a new batch of 55w 2700k cfls with the normal base ( Not mogul) !!! Super happy atm, Finding cfls around here has been a pain in the you know what. Going to buy four of them tomorrow and get them going with the rest of the lights. So i should have around 220 more watts(total of 500w's) of lights coming close to almost doubling my lumens.

Would it not be more productive to get a 400w HPS or something? 500w of CFL must be a pain to deal with, especially if you can get better penetration, less watts and more lumens from a single bulb.

Well I would've loved to buy a HPS from the get go, But I didn't have the Cash upfront to start, Had a bunch of mismatched cfls, Had to buy a few cfls/soil/sockets/buckets/emergency blankets ( 100 bucks walmart Credit ) had to buy nutes (60 bucks cash) seeds ( Free ) double sided tape ( 4 bucks cash ) So to start I invested around $60-$70 in cash, 100 on walmart credit. with the amount of upfront cash I had at the time it just wasn't feasible >< Broke stoner atm, Times are hard and work is slow, Great combo.

Trust and believe sir, as soon as I can Ill be investing in a HPS, so I can run a Veg Closet with cfls and flower closet with Hps :) Heat hasn't been an issue, Only thing that was a problem was during veg when my humidity was at 10-25%! Now that i'm on flowering im hoping the low humidity levels will help produce some more resin on the plants!

I Think I may have a Light leak, Or someone in the area has a male growing..... All my Girls are starting to go what Im assuming is Hermie. Ive been watching them closely cutting any balls off that I find... This Really Sucks, I was hoping the first indoor grow would finish off without any more setbacks. Ill try and get some pics of them up this evening, For now Im back to sealing up any light leaks.

Where did you get the seeds from? Are they bag seed from the same source? If so, they were probably all hermie seeds to begin with. Although if you do have severe light leaks, it's a good idea to seal them.

If I may be so bold as to offer some advice...

My personal experience using similar cfls (23- 300w) always resulted in airy buds.

Household LED globes are much better at producing dense buds. If you can afford to, swap out as many as you can for 9.5w CREE WW ($12.97 at Lowes/HD)- or higher power Philips/Utilitech. Better nuggz + getting rid of toxic mercury

Here's pic of mine. I used HHG (household globes) until mid flower. I planned to do HHG only, but was giftedd seeds from a new breeder and wanted to showcase them as best I could, so I added a ufo 90 that I already owned. Total wattage ~ 100-120.

Vegged her clones under the same HHGs, flipped to 12/12 a week ago. What I don't like about globes in general is they are point source

3 days ago I added 4 x 4ft @23w led tubes ($35/+ 2 T8 shop lights @ $17)- they have to be retrofitted to bypass the internal ballast.

First pic is from their mom, the rest where I am now. hth

@Sunnyjim It was Random bagseed, and Yes the buds the seeds came from all came from the same source, I didnt put into any thought in the seed being Hermie, Does it happen often? I closed myself in the closet, with a light on outside the room, and there was one light leak, It wasnt directly on the plants but could I guess have reflected off the materials on the wall back to the plants. Idk Im at a loss of ideas, They dont look stressed at all PH is nearly perfect, I think they may need to be watered again with epsom salt due to some leaf tips starting to curl slightly.

One plant had seeds popping up on ALL lower branches, I took all those Branches off. The two other plants each only had one lower branch that was developing male parts, Ive been watching Like a Hawk to make sure No other pods start to develop.

@PetFlora I was Looking at the LED lights they sell at lowes/homedepot etc, and was going to buy a couple, But hesitated since all my studying went into growing with cfl, Next time Im at the store Ill pick up a few and add them in, I dont want Fluffy buds! I know its not going to be the densest weed in the world but Id like to be somewhat dense! Thanks for the tips! I notice you have the led globes from what looks to be touching leaves etc, do they run that cool?

Unfortunately, if the source of the seeds was a hermie plant, that hermie plant passes on its hermie genetics to its seeds.

Light leaks can cause stress, which can cause a plant (or plants) to hermie, but it's far more likely that the seeds had those genetics to begin with. Try to fix your leak problems before the start of your next grow, and if you can, get some good seeds with good genetics from a reputable source.
