3000k CMH or HPS for flower?

hello folks! well i have become a CMH grower this year. I chose the Philips Mastercolor 4000k bulb. I did so for the energy spectrum this bulb emits, and the fact it can be used throughout an entire grow. so far i like the results.

i am about to build a flower cab and have ran into a dilemna. i have read much that HPS will yield better, but combined with the CMH throughout the entire grow, will produce very good quality as well (not that HPS is of lesser quality alone :)). My dilemna is that I would like to try the 3000k Philips Mastercolor bulb for flower since it has more red color in it.

does anyone have any experience they could offer me on this? I am leaning towards the 3000k bulb because I want to experiment. but i would like some others opinions. its a tough call.

thanks for any advice.

I've heard good things about CMH's, but unfortunately i have no experience outside T5's. Wish I could help more. Hopefully someone's got some good info for you.

Nothing beats an HPS yet. I'd stick with that if you can afford it or have access to one. If you want to experiment use the CMH, but if you tried and true results just get an HPS. At least with an HPS you know based on a lot of references you're getting the best results possible at the current moment.

well i guess no one here has used the 3000k CMH bulbs. i found a couple growers, but not enough to help me make a weighted decision. so screw the HPS. i will go with the 3000k CMH.
