3 weeks in..what should I be doing?

Ok, so I have been doing my reading, and plenty of it, and I understand all the basics and then some. After losing 6 plants to what i believe was poor lighting the first go around, the new plants are looking great. This is the first, well now second time that I have attempted this and would like for it to be a success. My questions right now are, nutrients and fim/topping. I will be including pictures of 3 plants. The tall one is sativa dominant Light of Jah and the other 2 are from some good bud that i got that had seeds in it ( i know the risks of growing these and are crossing my fingers one is a female). This bud seems to be clearly indica based on the fat leaves and bushy plants. Ok, before i start rambling let me get to my conditions then my questions...

been 3 weeks since they popped out of the soil, started from seed
In 8x10X7 room in basement
Day time temp-80-95
night time temp 70-80 usually a little lower but it's been hot out
Humidity 50-70% usually closer to 60
Outside air blowing in at all times from outside window
Oscillating fan on plants
6500k cfl's
Watering with distilled water
pH seems to be right under 7..hard to tell, i need a better soil ph tester
Fox farm ocean forest soil 33% mg perlite
Been watering every other day as the soil dries out very fast.
waiting on digital ph tester to come in mail

I know that I am at that stage where I need to be adding nutrients any day now, and I am very nervous to do so. I was able to grab 3 2.5 gallon jugs of general hydroponics 3 part flora nutrients from a friend so i will be using this. FloraMicro FloraBloom and FloraGro. I understand I need to mix these into water to get the right NPK levels then test ph and adjust to keep it 6.3-6.8ish. Well what i dont get is how much of each do I use. I know to use 1/8 to 1/4 strength first, but an eighth of what? Are these 3 enough to carry me through the rest of veg and through flowering? Do I need other nutrients?

Ok thats one of my questions. My other is should I be topping/fimming? I have this Jah that looks just the way i want it to..not too bushy, light seems to be getting down to the bottom no problem. But these other 2, I dont know, they are so bushy with such huge fan leaves that are covering all the growth underneath.

Ok, the first 2 pictures are of 1 of the indicas, the next 2 pics are of the other indica (same bud) and the third is the light of jah. The indicas are about 4.5 inches tall and the Light of jah is 7.5 inches tall. All have been in the same conditions since they popped out of soil 3 weeks ago, 6/21 to be exact.

Any and all help is much appreciated...thanks in advance. I am sure this is just my first set of questions to many.

Just to wrap it up...should i be topping/fimming yet? And how do i mix these GH Nutes?

I use General Hydroponics flora bloom and micro only. The gro really isnt needed. My application is very siilar to LUCAS formula. For vegetative growth I use 4x the amount of Micro over Bloom as in if im using 10ml of Bloom im using 40ml of Micro. You can work up from about 400ppm on young seedlings to around 1000-1400 ppm as they get older...some strains like lots some dont...so basically feed em and if they look healthy and grow well...ncrease a little'bit more..if no problems increase. I do this up until I notice a slight amount of burnt leaf tips and then feed a lil less than that.

Anyway and then in flower just switch your use as in 10ml of Micro to 40ml of bloom....The grow can be used well with the rest but it really isnt necessary.

Your plants are big enough to fim to or train. I prefer LST as its less damaging..here is an example of two plants that were LST and fed onlu florabloom amd flora'micro....oh and some'pk 13/14 for one week.

Oh and dont top or fim in flower that will affect yield. You can however fim while you are LST training and get a bunch of top buds.

Woosah....alright, i think i feel better. But maybe thats b/c i just smoked :)...Thanks for the help guys. I figured they were going well, just a little nervous that those 2 are growing so bushy, but it seems after some reading that this is desirable, I just thought it was a little excessive.

So, this big ass bucket of gro is for nothing huh? So you say 10ml micro, 40ml bloom, no gro.. mix that into 1 gallon of distilled water..and good to go through the rest of veg like that. Its been 3 weeks since they popped out of the ground so i was thinking of waiting another 3-4 weeks before switching to 12/12...does that seem about right?

hey shiva...i seen somewhere that i was reading..people talking about cutting their cola's in flower...from what i got out of it..is that it was similar to topping? I dont know it was just something that stuck in my head...i haven't really looked into that yet. But you say not to do this in flower because of it affecting yield, while it seems like these people were doing it to increase bud size.
All in all, you are saying to have all fim/top/lst done before switching to flower?

i was reading up on that lucas formula and it says..."Add 8ml of Flora Micro (dark red stuff) to 1 gallon of water*, mix, and then add 16ml of Flora Bloom (pink stuff) into the water, and mix. Done"
so why are you using so much more micro than bloom? You say 10ml bloom and 40ml micro? Doesn't add up according to lucas. Although your plants look great, so what ever you are doing seems to be working.

And also, 8 and 16 are full strength right? and for veg? From what I understand you flip it once in flowering stage?
I decided to give it a try and mixed up 2ml micro and 4ml bloom into a gallon jug of distilled poland spring water...gonna wait a couple days till the soil dries out, then just distilled water, then add same nutes again when it dries out again, my soil seems to dry out very quickly, about every other day. And see what happens..sound good?

bump, anyone have any suggestions...i want this to work..and keep reading conflicting things. when should i start flower? wait until sex shows? some people say 4 weeks some say there is a seedling stage..some say no...whats true? i am 3-4 weeks in, and i dont think they are ready for flower, but what do i know...i have never even made it this far.
i decided to go ahead and fim the newest growth, its been 3 days and it seems too soon to tell what is really going on, but it is starting to grow back, i can see that. Upward growth doesn't seem to be stunted at all as i saw the sativa(LoJ) grew enough overnight into the morning, enough to touch the light slightly and give a little 1/4' burn on one of the leaves, and it looked like there was 1 1/2 inches between the light and leaf before lights out the night before. But i did notice that the leaves of the plants given nutrients started to cup upwards like a taco/canoe, which is most like from the nutrients that i fed them for the first time, and not adjusting the pH...got a pH tester ow,gonne feed straight distilled water next time (tomorrow...Friday) and then nutes again next watering(sunday)...but this time i will be correcting pH before adding it to the soil. Ugh..so much to keep track of...i thought these were just weeds and they just grow under any condition..why these bitches gotta be so particular...

ok, so friday is gonna be 7 weeks from when the seeds sprouted and broke the soil. Its been 3 weeks since I ditched the cfls and have been using 1 400watt metal halide bulb. Temps have been about 85-90 and humidity has been 50-60% consistently. 3 weeks ago I decided to lst all the plants and since then the growth has been incredible. Everything from down low turned into nice tops. Its crazy there are tops everywhere...I almost feel like there are too many tops. Monday I plan to switch to 12/12. But i keep seeing new tops/budsites forming on whichever top seems to be taking over. does this stop in flowering? I feel like these new tops/budsites that are forming are gonna be all small and weak because they are just getting going now. And what about the tops that are just getting started 5,6,7 weeks into flower? what happens with them? Do they stop growing budsites at some point and just focus on what they already have? Little info would be awsome. This is my first go at this, and I haven't had any issue what so ever, other than killing the first batch after 2 weeks for some weird reason(maybe light related). But as of this grow, not a single problem, and i have been feeding full strength nutes...8ml floramicro and 16ml flora bloom every 5 days since i got into the 5 gallon buckets. As far as I can see they look beautiful.. But I would like some feedback from some experienced growers.
I got 7 plants in total in the area right now...gonna be adding a 400 watt ballast, so its gonna be 2 360watt hps conversion bulbs and possibly some cfls for some side light. just got a 400 cfm 6' fan and carbon filter...just finished building 7.5ftX5ftx7ft room for flowering.

Long story short friday is 7 week veg since breaking soil from seed. Switching to 12/12 monday. Plants are 14-16 tall (most tops) since lst. Got 3 plants total showing sex...2 plants are from some really good bud I got that was supposedly from colorado both are females and I couldn't be more excited about that. Then 1 random seed I got when I purchased my seeds that proved to be female as well, then I got 4 light of jah (feminized seeds) that have not shown sex yet. the 3 that have shown sex are definetly indica dominant strain while the light of jah is supposedly sativa dom. the 2 plants on the front left are colorado and the front right is the random, the rest are light of jah....i think :) Not bad for a newbie huh?...i read A LOT

wow...looking back at my pics from 3 weeks...they have come a long way...when they were 12-14 inches is when i lst'd them, and I tied the tops down to the lid of the 5 gallon bucket basically, all within 2 inches

do budsites ever stop forming? like is there a point in flowering when the plant stops making new growth, and focus's on just making bud with the sites it already has?
