3 hermies? what to do

Hi, i was hoping that somebody out there could lend me some info. I have recently started growing and have right royaly cocked it up. I have now 3 hermaphrodite plants, due to fucking with their light cycle to much :wall:. They are 3 diffrent strains and are in 3-4 weeks of bloom:
If i carried on flowering will they produce seeds and when?
If they cross pollinate will the seeds still be feminized or is it only when they self pollinate?
If the answer to the question above is, no they will not be feminized, is there any way i can salvage this situation so it is not a complete fucking loss?

thanks guys, look forward to hearing some replies :peace:

You can finish them out, I did. You can look at the 1 I cut yesterday right here https://www.rollitup.org/2925154-post219.html

No, they will not be fem seeds they will most likely herm on you as well. The seeds will come as the pollen sacks open, hard telling when.

If they aren't to bad and you aren't ready to start over, finish them. It's a good experience anyway.

Ive done lots of reading on this. From what I understand if your plants were genetic hermies then the seeds they produce will most likely be hermie. However if you stressed them with the light cycle enough that it forced them to grow balls, that is a good thing.

When a female plant is stressed into growing balls, the pollen she creates is still lacking male genetics. So anything that gets pollinated by that pollen would have no way of being male.

My first grow turned hermie because i stressed that plant to the max. I am on my second grow now, check my signature link if you want to see it, and all 6 seeds I planted from that hermie plant turned out to be female. So that alone made me believe what I have read. I think you will be making yourself some nice fem seeds. :weed:

man do i hope your right PeeDee420 because those seeds were'nt cheap:shock:.
Your experience does make me feel a little better. I have seached alot of forums and there does not seem to be any sort of steadfast answer that people can agree on but what i have read would seem to agree with you.

The only thing i need to find out now is if cross pollinating between the hermies will stop the feminized seeds from being produced; which is something i've heard from a reasonably reliable source.
Could you maybe recommend some reading material?
Thanks for all the rapid responses much appreciated x

Grow them out and make sum butter. Very easy to do and it goes well with cookies.
Honestly, the highest i've ever been and i mean seriously tripping balls dude; my brother was growing and made some ghee with all the dead leafs and cuttings, 100g of butter too make 8 brownies, 1 brownie each......don't really remember much after that

You will get shitloads of seeds but there's always the option of making gumby hash.
And you should not trust that strain or seeds from it again, ditch them.

At least you didn't spend time growing these only to find out they're seeded like no tomorrow like I just did:

As long as the hermies to be cross pollinated were all forced into growing balls and not just genetic hermies, I think you would have fem seeds. Because there would still be a lack of male genetics.

As far as reading material, google is your friend. I spend allot of time on this site reading posts and then just google any other information I need that can't be found here. However most information can be found here lol.

A good thing to do is if you have a question that you find the answer to on this site, google the same question and see if you get the same answer. I try not to believe something unless I've read it multiple places.

Good luck!

"genetic hermies"? Where are you getting this? He already said the light cycle was screwed up. As far as I know herms are just females that have been stressed, but I'm willing to learn, if you can provide any data that shows hermies are genetic.

Hermies CAN be genetic if they carry the xxx chromosome or xxy chromosome, basically both are hermy. To the OP I really think you should do your own research. People you that you think know stuff on this website most of the time don't know shit. Only a handful know what their really talking about and usualy you have to pm them but it's well worth it for some good advice.

I think you're going to state things as fact here you should be more than willing to back them up.

If Hermaphroditism was a genetic trait, it could be bread in or out, but it can't.

I offer information that I believe to be true but in no way am I saying that what I say is absolutely true. All I can say however is that my experience with my own hermie producing fem seeds backs what I have read.

OP don't listen to the guy that said most people here don't know shit. There are many many knowledgeable people on this site. Just take everything you read with a grain of salt and make sure you read the same thing in 2-3 places before you start believing it to be true.

just a thought, maybe already covered somewhere. Dont know how likely it would work, but could you just cut the balls off a hermie before they really develop much and avoid pollen release? Or at least maybe release less pollen

This would absolutely work. If you could catch every pollen sac before it opened, your plants would stay seedless. In my first grow however I could not even find the pollen sacs so the chances of catching every one before it opened are probably fairly slim.

Just be careful when removing them because you can pop one easily, spreading the pollen.
